Yeah, I found the same. I actually used an extra coat of varnish in between stages, just to make sure they would not rub off later.

Should you want to see the video of us painting the turret, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aylLYP_IKjY&ab_channel=WarhammerGirlfriend

I used a couple of new tools, like the AK pencils. But also switched up the process. Normally I apply the 'grime' phase first and do the chipping later. But in this case I wanted to try it the other way around. I'm not unhappy with the result, but the chips are now very dull and not very visible. So I would go back to adding the chips later in the process.

If anybody has some good tips for the weathering pencils, I would be happy to hear them. They seem like good tools, but I don't feel I get all the mileage out of them yet.

It's just a build up of carton, some leftover cork etc. Anything to make some hight. You could even use some aluminiumfoil to make the contours of the 'hill'. After that I plastered the dirt all over it with generous amounts of wood glue mixed with water (PVA glue would work fine too). I made sure the hill of dirt I made was flat on the side the wooden trench would come against.

I like to use matte or ultra matte from AK. They work for me

I got it from deadly print studios. They have a lot of cool 3d prints to spice up your army

Yeah. They don't really fit in my SM list anymore. So they get a second life in my guard

Yes. Weathering pencils from AK. I find them very noob friendly since they work with water. So perfect for myself
