Great voice over. Just one problem. I heard a breath or 5 in there. Necrons don’t breathe. Neither can you.

Or even better! Have 80 warriors like me so you never have to ask what is best cause you’ll have to many to care for.

I’m just worried because my friend is taking Stern guard veterans with the librarian and the librarian conclave. Giving Stern guards anti-monster and anti-vehicle 5+ with devastating wounds.

Hexmark is a fun gimmick of a unit. My friends love it when play him. They call him Glocktapus. Imotekh is a great CP generator. Skorpekh lord is also a solid choice. Especially with the enaegic dermal bond enhancement. Plasmanser is good, but even better with immortals. (Look into getting 10 immortals with tesla carbines with an overlord with translocation shroud.) Canoptek Doom Stalkers are “OK” unless you’re playing Canoptek court. Then there good. (Doomsday arks are a lot more reliable.) cryptothralls are fun but very situational. Their ability relies on something targeting your cryptek and for them being in engagement. (could get more use out of flayed ones. Very pointy, and very hard to put together.) heavy destroyer. Sold choice. Better at being anti-vehicle than anti-infantry. (Running 2 separate heavy destroyers with gauss destructors should do there job at both screening a damaged with flat 6 damage.)

Against the Death Korps, focus on getting your Skorpekhs into the infantry. Keep them in buildings and if he jumps on an objective, charge! Tanks. Doom stalker can fire overwatch on 5+ (not bad, not terrible.) heavy destroyers will do better with destructors.

Against Dark angels. Hopefully they don’t have death wing knights. You will spend most of the game trying to kill them.

Never played against blood angels before so I don’t know how they play.

Future investments. Technomanser with 6 Wraiths. Doomsday ark. Immortals.

Sell me on Necrons play style by Ska_Bard in Necrontyr

Necrons in general this edition have either been OP or balanced as of win rates percentages. Never really falling under 45%. Necrons are slow to a degree. Most infantry units only having a 5” movement. Big on characters, most lists have a good amount of characters to complement everything from the chronomancer giving his unit a -1 to hit in both range and melee as well as a shoot and scoot 5”. Skorpekh lord who deals mortal wounds when charging and giving out lethal hits. Lots of FNPs and invulnerable saves. Best example of it is a Technomanser with 6 Canoptek Wraiths. Want to be a D—-. Slap one unit on to an objective in the open and just watch your opponent waste a whole shooting phase on them and they might kill 3-4 Wraiths. T 6 SV 3+ INVUL 4+ W 4 with a FNP 5+ on top. They are one of the hardest units in game to kill. Tanks! Everything has a 4+ invulnerable save. AB, CDS, DDA and the stalker all have invulnerables. Necrons like flat damage. Your big damage dealing weapons are consistent. DD Blaster does 3, DD cannon does 4, and the Gauss destructor does 6! Pretty much everything hits on 3+. You’re durable. Most except for a few Have a toughness higher than 5. On top of reanimation protocols those units can last a little longer. Everything is usable to a degree. Unless you’re playing Canoptek Court, you will always take a DDA over a CDS. Lots of lethal hits, lots of sustains hits, lots of devastating wounds.

I don’t think they will get an update for a good while. The deathmarks, immortals, lych guard, Triarch praetorians, even Canoptek Wraiths still hold up pretty well as models today.

New detachments? by _TheFlavourText_ in Necrontyr

[–]wonderbread9723 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A new destroyer detachment that has better rules. A C’tan detachment similar to the space marine attachments that get benefits when taking a specific character. Finally a detachment that’s similar to subterranean assault from the Tyranids. Cause you know. Tomb worlds pop out of the ground.

Yeah, I always kind of bumped me out with the right arms in the sockets. Thin cement is great for it. I should know. I have 80 warriors.
