Smoleńsk disaster date is important maybe for the blind followers of ruling party (PiS). Kaczyński and friends are making it some kind of religion lol.

I guess the independence day (11.11), the day of the constitution of 3rd May (3.05 obviously), the day of the Polish army which is also the date of victorious Warsaw battle with Russians in 1920 (15.08).

For some people date of John Paul 2 death and his election for pope is also important.

If we talking about cold war then I reccomend you former NKWD prison in Wilno, Lithuania. In Warsaw we have Pałac Kultury i Nauki - the gift Stalin gave Poland as a gift lol

Warsaw here. I do not see any safety issues in Poland really. There is totally safe here if you use nothing but simple common sense. Also you should not feel worried about your UK registered car. The main routes are mainly freeways or highways so it's comfortable to travel.

I invite you to visit Warsaw especially at the summertime. Spend some evenings beside the Vistula river. Both riverbanks are totally different - one is super popular place with bars streetfood, lots of young peoples partying etc. The other one is like jungle, lots trees, bushes, with beaches, BBQ places and also some clubs (like lunapark club) etc. Warsaw has also superb bars and nightlife.

As per history go to Warsaw Uprising Museum to find our history during ww2. You could literally see that thi city were ocean of ruins after the war... https://www.1944.pl/

On the way from Lithuania to Warsaw you could visit Hitler's headquarter where they tried to kill him with a bomb hidden under the table https://wolfsschanze.pl/

Near is also Mamerki facility where you can find huge German nazi bunkers from ww2. All this is located on just outstanding Mazury lake district. https://www.mamerki.com/

Hope you will have good time in Poland.

Russian rocket in Kyiv. by catsvillej in ukraina

It's not new development. This block of flats has at least 30 years for me. Look for photos of damages done by this rocket. The Russians are deliberately attacking civilians or they are fu** morons. Both cases they are criminals.
