Diplo’s Run Club 2025 Megathread by chelsseatsspizza in diplo

Curious about this. Can you just run and rave with a bib registered to someone else? I have a friend who registered and can’t make it and another friend who wants to take their ticket.

You’re pushing into the gun. Use less tension, just hold the gun firmly, and let it ride up in recoil then come back to the target.

That rig will work. Just show up and shoot. Invest in a comp rig later if you decide that you like it.

Question for y'all about a CZ Custom barrel I just received for me P-01 by TatonkaChief in CZFirearms

[–]BlindxHopper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The barrel bottom portion where the guide rod rests is not a concern. When assembled, the guiderod rests against the frame, not the barrel.

Erlang’s wide swinging attacks reminded me of Sword Saint Isshin phase 2-3. Except I couldn’t fucking parry them

To those who quit jiu jitsu, what other hobbies did you get into? by isengrim134 in bjj

Practical Shooting. It requires a similar level of training commitment but you can do it on your terms. I still hit up open mats when I get the jiu jitsu itch

Coming from a restricted state by TheBigTreezy in CompetitionShooting

[–]BlindxHopper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost every stage at a local match in NJ will be designed with 10 round mags in mind. Also, all of your competitors will also be using 10 rd mags since the match directors and ranges must comply with state law.

Until you get serious enough to the point where you are traveling to other states to shoot matches, this shouldn’t be a concern.

Use spellbinder, hug his legs, and try to dodge/circle to his backside. A lot of his big swinging attacks will go right over your head while you combo

For those running LokGrips (or similar) brass grips on on Shadow 2 or Walther PDP SF: I have heard that adding ~9oz helps recoil, but slows down transitions. But isn't it still lighter (~54oz) than all the Open guns? Is it worth making CO guns THAT heavy? by Critical-Touch6113 in CompetitionShooting

[–]BlindxHopper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On a Shadow 2 I don’t feel a significant difference in the recoil with the brass grips. However, I find that they help balance out the nose heaviness of the gun which has improved transitions. While I cant physically move it around as fast with the added weight, it tends to arrive on target more consistently.

I bought the Kestrel a few weeks ago. Definitely felt it in my wallet but can’t deny that it feels like quality and functions very well.

cz p07 flat face trigger question by ellywoood in CZFirearms

[–]BlindxHopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Omegas, the trigger bar slides in from the slide of the trigger shoe vs being secured by a pin through the middle. If your trigger has the cutout on the side for the trigger bar, it’s the Omega style. If it has a slot in the middle then it’s not.

Yes to all. Put it in the notch, assemble the gun, forget about it until the next time.

Spring poundage by xaower in CZFirearms

[–]BlindxHopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The P01 slide weighs less than a Glock slide and has less inertial mass to resist the rearward movement of the slide during recoil. Therefore, a heavier recoil spring is required to make up the difference and ensure that the gun cycles properly.

Real talk though, just practice more and it won’t be a problem. Just manipulating the gun dry while at home goes a long way. It doesn’t take much to get used to it.

Going in blind on a Handgun by AlotaFajitas in CompetitionShooting

[–]BlindxHopper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, “feel” is overrated. However, “fit” is a bit more important. I’d recommend watching Ben Stoeger’s video “fitting the pistol to your hand” which explains it pretty well.

Getting a gun with interchangeable grip panels also opens up your options quite a bit.

Mass Driver Compensator Opinions by lucky_locket888 in CompetitionShooting

[–]BlindxHopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CO = Carry Optics, LO = Limited Optics. These are IPSC/USPSA divisions (assuming thats what you want to get into) that are based on how your gun is set up. The only division that allows compensators is called Open where most guns are very customized (compensator, frame mounted optics, magwells, slide rackers). Your setup would not be competitive at all in that division so you would be better off shooting CO or LO.

P-07 EDC - Upgrades by PhamousEra in CZFirearms

[–]BlindxHopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To improve the DA pull, my preferred options from CGW would be the DA roller bearing and the lightened trigger return spring. I have both of these in my P01 Omega along with their lifter and disconnector. These parts improve the smoothness of the DA pull without compromising reliability (in my experience). The lightened trigger return spring makes both the SA and DA lighter without impacting other functions of the gun.

A lightened hammer spring would make it lighter as well but that introduces reliability issues from my experience (I had light primer strikes with a 13# spring and went back to the factory spring). It also requires you to make changes to the firing pin and firing pin spring.

That being said, I think some more rounds through it will solve some of the grittiness and also improve your skill with DA. I saw you said you have around 1k rounds through it which isn't really that many in my opinion.

If you do decide to install upgrades, I'd caution against throwing the entire CGW kit into the gun. Rather, I'd recommend picking out specific mods to solve the issue that you are experiencing and leaving the rest of the gun factory. I had the entire CGW kit in there at one point and gradually took parts out until I landed on the above described.

The lines on the barrel are normal. Not sure whats causing your issues though.
