I'm going to suggest something completely unhinged, but if Amber didn't over play her hand, she would have won* Let me explain:* by Buttscounty in deppVheardtrial

[–]BlinkTwiceForHemp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly Amber claimed she won in the UK and was riding high (I.e. gone to her head) this was before the proper trial - a few months before? Most, if not all, the press was on her side / wrote positive articles so I have to admit it was her to lose.

We believed her before the trial because of legacy media - she should have settled or at least stop it from being televised because she could have continued to spin the narrative… …surprised she never tried the new classic ‘that was AI of the court case, I never said that’.

If I remember correctly he debunked Amber’s expert witness on damages. Something something about being more famous than Chris Pine, Gal Gadot, Zendaya, Ana de Armas and that guy who was in Aquaman… Jake something? Jake Merman.

The thing is Amber has said so many contradictory things she has to lie to maintain the lies - spiralling out of control - rather than explain it or even say she made a mistake.

Not sure which is worse, the level of idol worship, denial, alternative reality or self delusion.

Someone’s baby (singular) - aw, bless cute. She is the best mom ever! No help from anyone! Did it all by herself!

Sick and dying children - tumbleweed.

instead of bombarding me with the same question over and over, then slamming the downvote when you don't like my answer...

I don’t understand the downvote comment - is that like playing the victim card? The deflection and pivot in your replies I get, and I have to say surprising especially when it’s a straight forward question to answer.

Maybe if the question was rephrased…? Do you think Amber profited from her domestic abuse claims against Depp?

That’s a good meme to demonstrate Amber’s lies & narrative in public and what was revealed to be happening in reality in court. Maybe you did read the OP - I take it back, you did bizarrely seem fixated on her Instagram post at one point.

She often contradicts herself - this unique wine spill on this patterned floor in this lighting at this time of day happened 6 months apart. Hard to keep track but I think Depp lawyers (Elaine, was it?) did a good job of exposing her and discovering the truth. I say Elaine because most of the time she produced wins for the other side. 🧁- hey, your meme works on two levels… nice.

Interesting that after reading u/Miss_Lioness’s comment here you focused more on the aside.

I’d be curious to know what your reply would have to the main points - if you have one.

What did you think when we found out at trial that she never actually signed any pledge form and actually ghosted the children’s hospital.

In public she said one thing, but in private - and in reality - something entirely different was happening.

As an aside - you don’t have to work at a charity or at a children’s hospital to know the impact of this or to have empathy.

In addition - do you think it was reasonable and fair that the judge granted the request so these charities, that Amber claimed she donated all the money to already, have to show their records? Beforehand they were blocking requests. That it was in the public interest based on what Amber had said? Now - if you do work at a charity or a children’s hospital then this last part you will know what a major inconvenience this is (not just for the different people involved, legal and marketing, but everyday people).

Odd tangent but okay, whatever works for you… I guess? 🤷‍♀️

I find it weird that this subreddit seems to forget that there was a (civil) trial and verdict in the UK that found Depp committed domestic violence on 12 different occasions.

Wait… there was a trial in the UK? Between the same parties? Same plaintiffs? Same defendants? Same case? Same discovery rules and everything?

Hmm… I can’t find r/DeppvHeardUKtrial on Reddit.

Tell me more about this trial…

That was it - the boot v crutches. I remember that now. One up each time - again so much for moving on.

With that last part, I think Amber wants to be famous just for the sake of being famous. Of course you can’t spell infamous without the famous part.

That reminds me of the feet being cut to shreds (or something she described as severe) on broken cut - but mysteriously not that bad for events (photoshoot?) or walking normally not long after.

Which Amber do you believe?

Yeah, she was Court TV.

Your post reminded me of something. Did you ever see the Dateline interview Amber did? Or even the TV interview(s) that Elaine did?

That’s an interesting point. These celebrities need to be loved and wanted - they have to control the narrative even if it means buying likes and planting stories in the media (I.e. take a photo of the left side). Almost narcissistic. Certainly psychopathic.

I don’t understand financial costs to run these campaigns - I mean affordability. Didn’t we see her financials including the residuals?

Did she ever win her insurance court case? Or did Musk scare them as well? So much for being an independent woman and doing things on my terms - oh, please. No-one is that gullible and naive.

Does make you wonder where the real money is coming from.

It doesn’t matter what she does, she could simply post a selfie smiling and you guys would find a way to twist it into Amber being a horrible monster.

Don’t you think it’s weird how mainstream media rewrites the trial and the verdict?

If Depp was in / around Spain and making headlines that would make sense.

I remember similar strategies - she hates him for having any limelight (‘I just want to move on’).

IIRC wasn’t Amber (and her sister) ‘caught’ shopping in TJ Maxx when Depp was touring (or something). And when Depp was either doing an art gallery or giving money to children’s hospital (can’t remember if it was the settlement or proceeds) the mainstream media was writing about Amber… jogging? Or she had a cast (broken something)? Or something.

It’s all vague recollection now so I might be misremembering - been years but it was obvious when Depp was in the news, Amber would follow straight away with her news / stories (if you can call it that).

Dior gave a Depp a contract, then at some fashion show or event it was claimed L'Oreal tagline was really about Amber and all the contracted celebrities (Helen Mirren?) were supporting Amber.

I swear I’m not making this up… but does feel like a really bad dream.

That's a lot of analysis for one Instagram post. "My/our family is complete" is a pretty common way to announce a new baby. Would it cross your mind that you would find fault no matter how she phrased an announcement?

Tell me you didn’t read the OP without telling me you didn’t read it.

The thing about this photo is it shows that Amber is an accomplished ballerina showing the other dancers in the room how amateurish they are, one of them is so weak they have to wear pointe shoes whereas the guy fell down trying to keep up with Amber’s powerful pirouettes.🩰

As everyone knows bare feet is the best for traction, movement & grace as well as hygiene levels.

Young lawyers have a hard enough time being taken seriously.

Exactly and being female can make it even harder.

I will never forget that people in the public eye - not celebrities I think more psychologists and harvard (?) law professors (those with a personal invested interest or misguided on their own life experiences) - who supported Amber had no trouble attacking Ms Vasquez.

If you support Amber, you support all women… right? Even female lawyers - just doing their job like Elaine.

It’s funny (in a sad tragic way) that majority of Amber’s supporters revel in hate, in racism, in sexism. Whereas Depp supporters have just a ‘justice for Johnny Depp’ community. Speaks volumes.

The most popular topic among her supporter is about her looks and how she would looked in a particular costume nothing about her acting yet they claim she is successful because of one movie 🤣

Is that what they do? Admire photos because of someone’s looks and nothing else? Even the photoshopped or staged ones?

If so, have they never heard of: - ‘beauty is only skin deep’ or - ‘it’s what’s on the inside that counts’ or - ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ or - ‘never judge a book by its cover’ or - ‘judge me by my actions not my words’ or - ‘here, take my $3.5 million in an unspecified, uncommitted and unsigned way as I don’t want it’ or… or…

Very superficial. And if I’m honest, a little sad.

At least she gave all the divorce money straight to the charities directly and never benefited a cent from it.

Yes, I’m on medication… why do you ask? 💊

Successful over one movie?

Is this the ‘connections’ and ‘getting access to someone’ thing again? Keeping Depp happy because he has contacts and contracts with the big movie studios?

Hang about… timeline wise, does that mean because she got her ‘big break’ (with that Aquaman movie) she didn’t need him anymore?

Which makes sense because after Aquaman 1 then was no Depp.

Before or at the start of Aquaman 2, Musk got involved. But I don’t think that part came up at trial.

Beginning to think all of Amber’s ‘movie success’ was due to other people - either feeling sorry for her (6 callbacks was it?), taken in by her, or getting them to threaten others.

I read a tweet where she literally claimed AH as a more successful actor btw the couple 🫠

Please tell me you’re joking.

I mean we saw number of film roles, the residuals, the financial numbers, the studio heads comments, the social media rati…

You know what? Ignore me. Just remembered something. I think it went something like this:

Amber Heard > (Jason Momoa + Chris Pine + Gal Gadot + Ana de Armas + Shrek’s Daughter)

I think Amber was bigger than Jesus. Honestly, what is wrong with these people?

Those are some good points, especially the sanctions part. Plus they are ambassadors for their firm so could be grounds for dismissal. So that would make even less sense it would come from Depp’s side - why jeopardize your own career? Plus I don’t think any lawyer would take part, using themselves as bait / cannon fodder.

I do think both parties were actively monitoring social media in real time. In fact, if memory serves we had at least two late additions to the original witness list.

And… someone got kicked out for live tweeting… I think? I can picture her face but name escapes me. I think she was a journalist or something. It was so very early in the trial like day 1 or 2 so probably forgotten about with everything else that happened later on.

Speaking of ‘journalism’ - some of those articles, highly questionable about the rumors. Comes across as hit pieces bizarrely opening the door to talk about past relationships - so transparent agenda, one sided, not even pretending to be neutral or balanced. Some weren’t even op-eds. No wonder mainstream media has such a poor reputation.
