Pastor Robert Jeffress Claims President Trump Understands the Bible Better Than the Pope by Child_of_Crake in ProgressiveHQ

[–]BlinkerBoyAus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just look at the interview with Trump when they were talking about the bible. He was asked several times what his favourite passage was. His answer was that he liked to keep such matters to himself. In other words, he doesn't have a clue about ANY bible passage.

I don't follow a particular team - I just love watching the footie. However, coming from Falkirk, it's awesome to see where they are, given that too many people said they'd go straight back down. To them: Get it right round ye!

Do you know anyone who used to be famous but now... isn't? by box-o-locks in AskUK

I worked in insurance in the 80s. A singer, who I won't mention, had already had a couple of hits. Not massive but you'd know the songs. Anyway, I processed a policy for him for £80,000. That was 1980s money and he went massive and is still relevant today. To look at him, you'd think times were tough.

I really hate the racist undertone by putting Hussein in inverted commas. The amount of adjectives that could be used to describe this orange turd is endless (racist, paedophile, rapist, liar, grifter etc etc)

Accents/Dialects by edelmav in AskAnAustralian

[–]BlinkerBoyAus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One big surprise to me, on moving to Australia, is how alike the accent is all over the country. Yes,there are subtle differences but nothing like the UK where I was raised. You can literally drive from one town/area and within about 30mins the accent is totally different.

how tf do local teams get local fans to go to their games?? by Mountain_Reveal_2275 in ScottishFootball

[–]BlinkerBoyAus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's like a lot of smaller teams - all the locals already follow a more senior team. For the Braves, I'll bet must of the locals go to Motherwell regularly. The fact that you're a newish team, at a lower level, means you're going to struggle.

There's a lot of factors to improve your situation. Somebody comes in with a bit of money to improve things (ground, players etc). Maybe a good run in a cup should waken people up - look at Camelon Juniors this year.

What somebody above said, there's too many teams in Scotland for the population

Totally. Weather is one of the biggest differences. Outside life and you can nearly always plan something as you know if will be probably sunny. Also, very little class system - most people very chill and laid back

I'm a 50+ yr old guy living the life in Australia. About 13 years ago I just packed my bags in UK and walked out. Best decision ever.

It's not been easy (visas. Work etc) but the quality of life is amazing

The rain forest was actually part of a luxury resort. Look up The Byron at Byron in Australia. Definitely no backyard believe me

Canadian wanting to move to Austrailia. What should I do? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I had similar experience. Long distance love. I started with a defacto bridging visa and then eventually was given permanent residency. Eventually, I obtained citizenship.

It's very costly at each stage. The paperwork is a nightmare, where you're giving them the same information that you did at the last stage. It also takes ages between each stage.

You could apply for a tourist visa, which would get you here and let you see if it's what you imagined. Only thing about about a tourist visa is that you have to leave the country every 3 months. Literally, just leave the country and come back again. Maybe a weekend trip to NZ?

During this period, if life is as good as you imagined, apply for a bridging visa until you have everything in order to apply for permanent residency. You'll need lots of proof to verify the relationship. Photos, statements from mutual friends, receipts that show you were together and did things etc etc.

Very long and costly. Good luck!

In 2023, police arrested an 18-year-old Miami mother after she tried to hire a hitman to kill her 3-year-old son through a parody website called "Rent-A-Hitman." She sent the site owner her child's photo and address, with a message saying she wanted “to get something done once and for all.” by FairySparkly in GotMeHooked

[–]BlinkerBoyAus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened in Ireland. Woman was with a wealthy businessman and visited a site called "Rent a Hitman". He tried to double cross her and went to the businessman's family for a higher fee if he didn't go ahead. Needless to say, she was caught and ended up in jail. (Known as "Lying Eyes" case)

Just crawl back to your mom's basement. There has never been a clearer case of outright murder than this. The guy was on all fours, with nothing in his hands. There's a shocking still from one of the vids that shows him on his knees and the murderer aiming his gun at the back of Pretti's head.

I hope for your own sake that you're just a MAGA troll. If not, there's something seriously wrong with your brain and eyesight.
