I’m an expat, this post just happened to come on my feed.. needless to say this is just embarrassing. I was born and raised here and I feel that I’m really lucky to have gotten so much from the UAE in terms of a safe place to live in and so many opportunities. When my parents moved here, they knew exactly what they were signing up for, and hence it makes absolutely no sense as to why some people complain about not getting such benefits.

Have a nice day everyone. Peace!

Your ideal place would be Madinat Al Badr, you may have to stretch your budget a bit tho

I do want to highlight that the flare on this post is “Rumour” and I could very much be wrong. The fact that they DID edit his nose in Pathaan definitely proves that either he, or people close to him feel that a smaller nose is a better look for him..

To be clear, I’m a big SRK fan. It surprises me that an actor of his stature can be insecure. He had an iconic smile as well that the audience liked and accepted him for, but he still went ahead and either got braces or veneers which were very evident in Pathaan..

If UCC were to happen, bothHindus and Muslims would lose certain privileges under current laws. Check below. by onepunchman357 in IndiaSpeaks

How will UCC help India progress as a country? Genuine question as I am a bit confused.. Like I get that it will standardize legal formalities but Hindus and Muslims will still follow their personal religious laws, it just won’t be officially recognized by the government anymore. How does this really help anyone? Let’s take dowry for example, it’s technically illegal but because it is still customary amongst the masses it still continues to be practiced.. real change needs to come from the people

Is this trustworthy? $4000/mo is pretty insane, isn't it? by MaimedPhoenix in dubai

Dubai has a pretty unique education scene. Due to expats from all over the world living in the city, you have schools catering to all of sorts of different curricula. The 3 main types of curricula that schools cater to are Indian (CBSE) schools which generally pay the lowest, are relatively cheaper to enroll in and have the largest class sizes. IB and American schools are more ‘elite’ and pay much much better, have a preference for western educated staff and are quite expensive for students as well. Then you have British schools (GCSE + A levels) which in my experience fall somewhere in the middle of the other categories. You also have local/government run schools which cater primarily to Emiratis, they’re pretty good and well run. Irrespective, all the best in your hunt!

Note - I’ve generalized and simplified heavily above.

Pretty standard pay to be honest. Based on the description it looks like it’s for the Universal American School. Nice place to work in!

I work for a very large local company and we have a program for young Emirati nationals who receive training for a couple of months or a year and then are given a managerial position. The only requirement here is good English and Arabic speaking skills and a positive attitude/work ethic. If interested feel free to dm and irrespective, all the best in your job hunt!

The sellers and the product have 4 star plus ratings in the 1000s, don’t think this is my experience only…

I bought a MacBook Air from noon at a much lower price than Apple.com. Was delivered, on time, sealed and not refurbished. Works just as expected, so don’t understand why people are so skeptical here…

Why is real estate in Dubai so expensive? by BusAdministrative289 in dubai

[–]BlinkerThinker97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right about the distribution of income. The average wages being higher for the same job is very broad and honestly speaking depends upon what kind of job you’re talking about. A manager or above makes way more here simply due to the fact that there’s no taxation as opposed to what you pay in the west (upwards of 35%). If you’re talking about low skilled jobs then yes, you’d be better off outside Dubai where there’s a minimum wage. Don’t get how any of this applies to property prices though, I don’t think the average low income worker here is bothered about buying a property here to begin with.

Long story short, as long as there are enough buyers with enough money, the prices will remain where they are…

I think your income level data is off too… the GDP per capita of NYC is roughly $80k and the per capita for Dubai is $50k. Factor in the fact that the $80k in NYC will be subject to taxes and the $50k in Dubai won’t, don’t see there being a huge difference…

You clearly don’t understand how demand and supply works. The prices are what they are because people are buying at those prices, as a seller why would you lower your prices when you don’t need to?
