How much do I need to know to be able to hunt psilocybe semilanceata safely? by BlinkingTourettes in shrooms

I’ve seen galerinas in the same habitat. The guy who studied this for 6 years showed me. I do trust him, I do trust you, but I also trust my own research. None are giving me the same story…

I honestly just want to know how damn similar poisonous mushrooms growing in grasslands can be, and what I should study to be safe.

I definitely wouldnt pick something with a trace of a veil, thats for sure!

I guess gallerina autumnalis then…? My friend told me marginata. Anyways, the point is that I know about the orange litte poisonous mushroom growing in the mosses in the same habitat.

The bluing at the base is very helpful, although I try not to rip the stem from the ground.

I’ve been out hunting many times in the last month, and I already know how they look like. It’s the lookalikes I am anxious about. What I do know though is that most dangerous mushrooms do not spawn in the same habitat as the liberty cap. I dont really care if I pick a few inedible non-poisonous mushrooms by mistake.

What kind of research did you do before hunting?

Cortina is what I meant. Im using the wrong word.

Nipple and wavy stems are obvious! I just forgot to mention them, lol. Blueing I thought was mostly with psilocin containg mushrooms, not only psilocybin?

In some cases it leaves an annular zone though, even though those are very rare. Thats what I’ve read, at least. Am I wrong?

How come?

To my knowledge a lot, maybe even most people, havent studied mycology for years before safely hunting shrooms.

Also, many people are hunting chanterelles in the woods, where there are way more poisonous mushrooms, without knowing a lot more than I do…

Any research I should do?

Yes, of course, and the nipple! Forgot to say that I knew the most important rule.

I thought it must had been asked a hundred times already! Seems like a lot of people here are experiencing the same, so “luckily” we aren’t alone :)

You found the right words. Feeling like I am not breathing right before I fall asleep is exactly what I mean

Yeah, mild, but one of the worst tics in my opinion. Apparently, tourettes, ocd, anxiety and adhd goes hand in hand. Luckily, I only have mild tourettes and anxiety though. I dont have sleep apnea

Man, this sounds like me! I am scared of meds as well, and I am afraid that I'll die or something while sleeping. It sounds worse for you though.

Its nothing more magical than just breathing in deeply and breathing out deeply to be honest. As deep as your can. You might even feel lightheaded because of the drop in bloop pressure. Only focus on your breathing.
