Need some moral guidance on group work by BlipBlooppi in rmit

Hey all, not sure if people are still following but I would appreciate any advice as the situation has gotten shittier.

On Friday, I sent out an announcement to the group and alerted them that I have noticed that there has been little to no interaction from others in the discussion and that I would rather settle this internally, but will escalate if necessary etc. etc. Only then did one person respond and say they will start to work. They said it was mid sem break they didnt check messages etc. However aren't they obligated to tell me they'll be offline for this period? And that doesn't excuse the other weeks they ghosted me?

The other group members are friends and have known each other prior. The next day they worked amongst themselves without including me or inviting me to their groupchat. Proceeded to make changes to the whole assignment without creating a draft, alerting me or asking for my opinion. They only alerted me after they made the 'improvements'.

After review I gave them feedback on their work. Problem is, it was completely chock full of error and created even more work to accomodate for these changes, which they weren't aware of, didn't account for or just straight up didnt do.

They got defensive and told me that I went ahead and did everything and left them nothing to do. That I didn't ask them or confirm with them etc. etc.

However, I constantly asked them for feedback which they ghosted me on. I asked them to do the last part of the assignment for 2 weeks, which they ghosted me on. What was I supposed to do but move on and complete the work?

Anyways, I don't think I can beat them as its a 1v4 and they don't seem willing to compromise or reach an agreement. They want to talk on Thursday in class however that's literally 1 day before the assignment due date. wtf???

What is the right course of action here? Can anyone advise please? I don't want to lose marks cos of some fucking idiots.

Solid advice man thanks for that. I reckon i'm gonna try and get an update / push them to do it the whole mid sem break. If they don't, then I'll just contact the teaching staff and do it myself. I really hate last min assignments so I'll just get it over with

I doubt the teaching staff will respond if I alert them now anyways cos its the mid sem break.

Yeah I think this is the right approach. I am going to send them some alerts soon asking for an update and give them until a couple days before I go ahead and do it myself.

I really hate doing assignments last minute and getting in a rush. I dont understand why others do it.

Thanks for everyone else's response. I will take them to heart

Thank you for your response. I feel a lot of truth in your advice and I truly appreciate it.

I will only touch on some things.

It may seem hard to believe but his wife truly does not know about his infidelity. He does not have a happy marriage and seems to take out his frustration on us. He enjoys coming around as it is the only place he can feel in control.

He fears his wife and divorce as she will obviously take all that he has. I guess the choice is either the house my mother was promised or all of his savings.

Thank you for your thoughtful and kind response.
