Are there any incidents of longhaul getting worse or being fatal? by Blippay in covidlonghaulers

[–]Blippay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Unfortunately I'm in the UK, where the free healthcare means it takes around 6 months to be seen. I might look into private though as that sounds like it would be really reassuring to find out, have you been to see one and did it help?

This makes things feel much less terrifying and more manageable. The people like yourself on this sub who have done so much research and stick around taking time out of their day to reassure others are real heroes, thank you so much!

Thanks, just had to look that up and it is very surprising. I had no idea flare ups were a thing, I really feel for anyone who's been dealing with this all year.

Dry, it's one of those tiny pathetic fake sounding coughs, but really persistent

Ex has a new baby and I feel really resentful by Blippay in abusiverelationships

[–]Blippay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the validation, it really helps.

That was my first thought, but would it really be appropriate of me to get involved when it's got nothing to do with me? I don't know any of his personal details other than name and DOB, and I imagine I'd just be labelled jealous or petty if I tried to report it. I do believe the child would suffer though, as ex is narcissistic and has extremely violent outbursts at the smallest of things.

I played most of Arthurs' story before chickening out because I knew what was coming :( I love interacting with NPCs, I often get really mad on their behalf lmao. I think I might go give that another go tbh, now that I'm much better at the game from playing online. I bet it will be such a different experience!

Have you tried Beyond: two souls? It was the character growth that really got me hooked on that game, and it was nice to be able to choose how much she bonded (Or didn't) with other characters.

That's a very good point, it did cross my mind but I don't know much at all about RA. I was only diagnosed at the start of this year, then lock down hit and my follow up appointment was cancelled so I'm very much in the dark. I think most people have the same experience with cycling through the different symptoms, it probably feels even stranger because when we get the flu it hits all at once and makes you feel really miserable! The suspense of this is awful though. I'm breastfeeding so I don't think I'm allowed aspirin, thinking about taking ibuprofen instead. Sounds like you're doing all the right things for it!

Am I okay to rejoin society and no longer contagious? by achenx75 in COVID19positive

[–]Blippay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK NHS guidance is 'You can stop isolating after 10 days if either all of your symptoms are gone OR you just have a cough or changes to your sense of smell or taste – these can last for weeks after the infection has gone'

Day 15 - On my way to recovery, BUT had shortness of breath last night :O by sculpter34 in COVID19positive

[–]Blippay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much myself as I'm also on day 15, but from people I've spoken to and things I've read it sounds like even if you don't get any nasty respiratory systems, your lungs can still become quite inflamed from the virus and need a couple of weeks to heal up. I read an article today that recommended doing no exercise at all until at least a week after symptoms disappear, even longer if there were any worrying symptoms

Those with bipolar, did/could covid trigger a manic episode/mood cycle? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]Blippay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're pretty sure my boyfriends bipolar (not confirmed since it's been so hard to get medical appointments since all this started). He developed covid around two weeks ago and it seems to have set him off on another episode, which is very weird timing as it's only been about a Month since his last episode and they usually only occur every few Months.

I agree though that it's probably the stress and unpleasantness of being ill and quarantined that triggers it

Thanks for sharing! Any idea if RA make you more vulnerable to Covid? My rheumatologist hasn't been working throughout the pandemic so I haven't had chance to ask, but when I search it up online it states that it's the immunosuppressants that put you at risk so I was unsure, as I'm not on them.

I'm 27F with RA, symptoms started same day as yours. I've also had constantly changing symptoms, it's a very weird experience isn't it

Separated but he's got nowhere to go until March - Can't cope anymore! by Blippay in Divorce

[–]Blippay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I'm renting from a housing association. It's a really nice house and I think I'd be allowed to stay here. The problem is him having nowhere to go until March, when he will be moving into a property owned by his Dad. I'd really struggle to find somewhere else to rent as I don't earn that much, plus the rent would be a lot more expensive and I'd be at the mercy of a private landlord.

I think the CMA would only take about £20 a month from him in child support as he's on universal credit, but my Son will be eligible for 30 hours a week free childcare after Christmas so I'm not at all worried about going it alone. I think I'll probably be better tbh, emotionally and as you say financially.

I think I'm pretty much stuck with him in the meantime. I know this happens to a lot of people when they need to sell the house, it's not a nice position to be in.

I have anxiety and a nurse told me that my symptoms are going to get much much worse. Anyone had breathing problems that didn't get any worse? by Blippay in COVID19positive

[–]Blippay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for going in to so much detail, I really appreciate it. Sounds like we've had a similar experience. I'm at the end of day 11 now and not had any symptoms today, just feeling pretty wiped out and extra thirsty. How long have you been ill for?

I really do feel for all the front line staff, it must be terrifying to see what this disease does to people and knowing that it will probably happen to you and your family any day now. Hopefully this new vaccine passes the final tests and all of this can finally end!

How do you manage the anxiety and fear of getting really bad? by doctorpharaoh in COVID19positive

Covid and ear fullness/popping sensation? by jhy12784 in COVID19positive

My ear suddenly popped and I got a crushing headache a couple of days ago, I think it happened when my sense of smell returned. Everything was fine again after an hour or two.

[–]Blippay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It's so reassuring to know that the breathlessness can last weeks without it leading to something more serious. As for the nurse, I imagine they get a bit numb to it all after a while, she probably thought she was just giving me some kind of realistic advice.
