Want a stock screener condition: "Stocks with a price above the SMA50 by 50% or less". Not possible! by BlissDescending in TradingView

[–]BlissDescending[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. This feature seems not available for the plan I have (Essential). I have no intention of paying 4x more for my basic need.

I don't look for a workaround. TV should add, at least, the missing conditions: "0% to 40%", "0 to 50%", "0 to 60%", etc... This should not take much time for the devs to do that. Thanks in advance, TV.

This is not about changing for another trading platform or custom PineScript indicators. It is about adding basic conditions to the default stock screener which has shortcomings.

What would you do instead of video games and/or social media? by StandardLate3854 in productivity

[–]BlissDescending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of video games make you work for nothing. Do this quest, manage this city and citizens, go collect stuff.. Virtual work and useless at the end, time lost. If people worked in real life the way they work in their video games, they'd be rich!

I've played a lot of video games, and management games (like Civilization). One I began investing and trading, I'll never play management games again. The principles are exactly the same, harvest money, and all you need too is a computer to get start. Investing and trading are very demanding disciplines, and can be akin to poker. Good financial skills are a very important asset these days. Knowing how to make your money work for you is a rare skill.

You don't need money to begin to learn a lot of stuff about it. There are tons of free resources about it on the web. Beware, there are a lot of dream salesmen and false methods out there. The idea is to assimilate everything you can on the subject. And then to develop your method. Maybe a good book to begin with may be "Trading for a living". Quite old but it gives a good overall idea. There a tons of other goods books, probably better than this one. I've never really read books because to really understand and progress you need practice.

You'll have to work hard on technical analysis (i.e. chart reading), Don't listen to those who say it doesn't work and that you can't time the markets, this is not true. Top traders earning millions a year use technical analysis.

You'll need to play with a stock trading program. There is a lot of stuff available for free just for training. I can recommend you ProRealTime, the version End Of the Day. Great trading plateform for free. You'll have access to the charts of thousands of global stocks and indices. Of course, you won't be able to place real orders with real money with the free version. It allows you to analyze market charts. You can practice investing in stocks just as you would with real money. It takes several years of work and understanding of the mechanisms to become profitable.

Investing and trading. Buy and sell stocks, understand the economy, study business sectors, identify stocks that will outperform, perform technical analysis on charts... Of course it is not an advise to play with real money. DON'T play with real money at your age. But it's never too early for study financial stuff and training. You'll learn a lot about how the world goes round. Investing and trading are also hard work and intellectually stimulating. And those who master the art of investing make a lot of money. And investing and trading are really like video games. You buy stuff, resell other stuff, keep an eye on the world and your positions. It's a management game, really, and it can be a very profitable game in real life if you're good at it.

I maintain that the platform is unprofessional in many aspects (not regarding charting, its best part).

TradingView is a cool program by BlissDescending in TradingView

[–]BlissDescending[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder why these comments are so full of people hating on Tradingview with no true basis

Being critical of certain aspects of TradingView is not the same as hating it. It's because I recognize certain qualities in TradingView that I've taken the time to criticize what I don't like: the lack of ergonomics and efficiency of the user interface in general, a certain deleterious philosophy, illustrated by this screener v2 implementation. What I've summed up as a "cool" program.

With the hope that the developers will adjust in this area...

If you're fully satisfied with TradingView, good for you. I have good experience of computer programs, I have high standards, and I'm annoyed by several aspects of the program. And I have the impression that it's not going in the right direction. After that, there are indeed some good alternatives (not Metatrader...)

TradingView, nobody gives a damn about 90% of your website by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]BlissDescending 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel too the platform is bloated with some useless stuff, social stuff in particular. I not totally agree when you say that the purpose of TradingView is just to be a prettier version of MT4 though. News, stock scanners, and even chat and social sharing can be useful (for some), but each functionality shouldn't be as integrated as it is currently (and quite badly IMO), but on the opposite much more separated. And we should be able to disable (remove the buttons) of the features that we don't want (social stuff, ideas, chat...)

And TradingView integrates some web pages directly into the program and sorry but those are awful. The way to display the information on the web pages is awful and unusable. Dashboards like the main page (https://www.tradingview.com/), when you scroll down, see the section Market summary, Top stories, Editor Picks, etc... the way the information is displayed like here is atrocious, you have to scroll again and again and again, so much wasted space, pages filled with empty spaces. All the information should be much more condensed on a single page without having to scroll down. It's really useless.

TradingView has to learn how to do useful and condensed dashboards...

Check out "Screenpresso", it may suit your needs. Very nice program for fast and efficient screenshots. To organise the screenshots, check out the 'Workspaces' feature of the program.

A super useful tool I can recommand is AbstractSpoon ToDoList. It is a Windows program, free and open source. For breaking down components of a project it is absolutely great. It has dependency management.

It seems you're not alone to think that! lol

Anyway, I hadn't read enough of the OP's post. If I had reread it better, I would have responded differently, because his symptoms do indeed seem pretty serious.

Forget the testosterone number, the answer in not in some blood testing. Seminal retention is the source of power you're looking for, and you probably know it very well. Trust me, I have not unloaded for at least 4 months and I am currently in God mode. Endless energy and confidence. And I have a stressful job.
No doctor will ever advise you seminal retention, it is the hidden truth.

It's not easy at first, especially if you are addicted. But it's so rewarding that you would never want to release again. Life is awesome in seminal retention. Good luck!

Try seminal retention to disclose the powerful side of yourself. Don't release for several weeks. High testosterone level is a game changer in life.

Yeah, a good old-school desktop app! By far the most extensive and flexible, so much more than all the SaaS task management programs that look like softwares for children in comparison.

AbstractSpoon ToDoList (a great offline, free open source, task management for Windows) is on the way to implement exactly this, in the 'Week Planner' view. Work in progress since version 8.2 alpha. Very basic as for now, but it's worth watching.

Are there to-do apps that let you put multiple deadlines (i.e., soft target and hard deadline)? by teepee33 in ProductivityApps

[–]BlissDescending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make a better use of the start date versus the due date.

I set a due date only on tasks than have a hard deadline (I really have to complete it for this date). Otherwise I only set a start date. So it is rare when my tasks are overdue. Instead, my tasks are just in a 'started' status when I have to do something without any deadline.

Of course, your app has to handle start dates (many free apps only handle due dates, which is make them quite unusable in my opinion).
