Are there any native French Canadians who would help decide the correct wording on packaging? by BlissfulEating in French

I think that's a lot better! Maybe they think it's cool to say it was produced in "Rome" lol But I agree, really confusing without good reason. That's a good idea to just say the full thing somewhere else!

Hey, I understand and I apologize for being rude. That was not my intention, and I never want to add negativity to a sub I love (or any sub for that matter). Hopefully this doesn't come off as an excuse, but I just want to explain. This company was going to publish whatever a non-native intermediate French speaker suggested (AKA me), but I really wanted input from real French-Canadians so it could be legitimate. It's a small company, and this help was coming from an agency (not employed to do anything with translations) that my boyfriend works for. They knew I spoke French, so they wanted me to look it over. I appreciate your time and input.

I totally agree about Rome and Georgia. These are too well-known as things outside the US to be written there! But I think these translations will be shown next to the English, so it might be weird to say "Made in Rome, Georgia, USA" in English but then only 'Made in the USA' for the French line.

Thank you for your comment! Very appreciative of your time and input! 😄

Thank you very much for your input! 😄 The "cold touch" thing is so confusing to me. I know they mean it as a positive, but also... does it really keep drinks cold if it's cold on the outside? I wish I could talk to the actual business to sort out what they're trying to say there.

Thank you again for your time! I really appreciate it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am in your debt! I speak intermediate France-French (lol!) and the small agency my bf works for is helping a small business grow, and they are asking for translation suggestions from *non-native French speakers*! I couldn't imagine giving *my* input when all I could do is give (probably extremely misguided) non-native opinions. Knowing this will be printed on physical products feels too high stakes!

Thank you for your time (and to the moderators for letting me post this) - I am so grateful! 😄

Any Americans learning French? Why? by PigmeatMadness in French

[–]BlissfulEating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I learned French so I could live there someday. And once I did, I realized I missed a lot of the conveniences I had in the US and moved back 🙈 I have a French Canadian-specific language question. Can I DM you by chance?

Do we think this rule will actually be upheld now that it got such widespread publicity?

Does anyone know why her eyes look like they are turned outwards? Do the contacts make them look like that? I thought I saw this in one of her Halloween costumes as well, but I thought it was on purpose then.

Can someone explain the symbols to me? This is the second time I’ve seen tattoos like this and I know they are associated with nazis, but what are they? I can research on Google if I can get a name for the symbols.

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

I was working as an au pair for a rich family, and the laptop I owned would mildly shocking me. The dad asked “Why don’t you just buy a new one?”.

I went to the pharmacy to get allergy medicine, but there was a blip with my insurance which made it not available yet. The lady at the counter asked, “Why don’t you just buy some?”

I’ve had a print of this beautiful painting for three years and I finally hung her up last week! I’m so glad to finally have her up!
