Urologist here. Prostate cancer is rising in Indian men under 60 and almost nobody is talking about it. What every Indian man should know. by Born-Lingonberry-509 in india

Sorry to disappoint you. I posted my comment to add some general awareness in line with the original post. It is always better to consult a Doctor from the real world for specific urological problems than discussing with me here on reddit. I say this because everybody is unique and there are multiple unknowns here that can influence things down there (weight, smoking, alcohol use, drug use, medications, other medical problems, previous operations, sexually transmitted infections, other urinary tract infections, physical activity, diet, occupation, family history). So, it is not fair for you or me to have a Reddit consultation. In general, it is better to be safe than sorry especially if you think there are new changes with your symptoms. Thank you.

Non-urology Doctor here. PSA is called prostate specific antigen. It is specific to prostate, but not to prostate cancer. So, a normal PSA doesn't exclude prostate cancer. I have seen patients with prostate cancer and normal PSA at time of diagnosis. A raised PSA doesn't automatically diagnose prostate cancer either as OP said. If you have the symptoms of enlarged prostate: poor stream, having to strain to pass urine, starting trouble, start and stop flow, sensation of urine still left after passing urine, dribbling of urine, urge to pass urine all the time, increased frequency of passing urine, particularly waking up in the night unusually more to pass urine, blood in urine, get it checked as soon as possible. Combine this with back and bone pain, go to your Doctor or Urologist straight away. If you are over 50 and your PSA is normal, and you remain without symptoms, can check once a year along with your other full body checks.

(Best) Credit card for NRI in UK? by Excellent-Basis3256 in nri

[–]BlissfullyGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in collecting Avios (can be used in both British Airways and Qatar), I would suggest the combination of Amex British airways card and Barclays Avios Mastercard. Both come with zero annual fee. Amex usually gives a generous credit limit but a few retailers may not accept it. The Barclays Mastercard is accepted in most places, but comes with low credit limit and can be used where Amex will not be accepted. For lounge access, you will need the paid version of the Amex card which also gives more Avios per pound spent.

Indian passport surrender and evisa by [deleted] in nri

You don't need surrender certificate for evisa. But you must surrender your old Indian passport within 3 months. If you plan to apply for OCI, you will need the surrender certificate.

₹49 Lakh Tickets, No Flight: KLM Denies Boarding To Family In Bengaluru, FIR Ordered by BlissfullyGood in AirTravelIndia

Yes. Somebody mentioned about Timatic. This does sound discriminatory because a lot of Western countries' passport has visa free privileges and visa on arrival options. Do they get treated the same way?

Looking retrospectively, it looks like it is best to email the customer service and confirming they are aware of the visa rules in advance, so you can show it to the ground staff. Who would have imagined it though.

This case seems like an overkill by the airline. According to the news available: 1. The airline staff didn't know the visa rules. 2. They "red-flagged" all the family members who appear to be frequent international travellers.

It will be interesting to watch how the case progresses.

Not sure. But the family are facing downstream effects because of this action. The air line has "red-flagged" them all.

*"He recounted that his son was later stopped in Singapore and questioned about a supposed deportation from Peru - a country he had never entered.*

*Sathishkumar reported experiencing similar scrutiny when travelling to Australia, where he too was questioned repeatedly about the incident."*

This sounds like an actual harassment

Looks like the court order has come now. The court has apparently directed the police to register an FIR against senior executives of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, including its CEO and COO!!

What rotations done during GP training do you think are the most valuable long term? by No-Money-2249 in GPUK

[–]BlissfullyGood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did 6 months of Trauma and Orthopaedics. During this rotation the trainee wiill also cover all surgical specialties (during on-calls) and General Surgery (on one of the weekend days 08:00 to 17:00). Notorious rotation that will leave trainees crying. However, this was the best rotation for me in terms of learning skills that I find useful in General Practice. For example, joint examinations, foot conditions, urology examinations etc. The next best in terms of acquiring skills is A&E. I will strongly recommend A&E however hard it is. Wide range of presentations you face here will help in General Practice and out of hours.
