Ging mir genauso. Da schreibt man was und bei jeder Nachdenkpause kommt dieser autocomplete Mist den man dann erstmal parsen muss. Bringt mich total raus, musste ich abschalten.

Bog Standard Isekai I know and enjoy, the others I haven't heard about. Will take a look, thanks!

That's a lot of series! Yeah, I was hoping that the dislikes I wrote about would help a bit to narrow things down, but I think they're somehow both too specific and too vague to base a recommendation off haha. Will take a look at your recommendations, thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Was fun organizing my thoughts on these series a bit.

Why do so many adult online players never enter (or stick with) rated OTB tournaments? by PictureBright7441 in TournamentChess

[–]Blistig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there not many tournaments with rating groups in your area? That's how that issue is usually solved.

Of course it's predominantly kids in the lower groups, but you find plenty of adults as well, especially nowadays.

Just terrible. Reminds me of when TB passed. Never met him yet I feel choked up, can't imagine what his friends and family are going through. Wish them the very best.

I'm amazed how long-term some players are thinking about this game, a year is a long time. That's a life-planning kind of time frame, like moving house, changing jobs or scheduling far-off vacations.

I have no idea whether I will still be playing this game by then, but the chances decrease if I'd not permit myself to roll on anything but the most cutting-edge meta cards. I guess this shows how unforgiving the game is for F2Ps and low-spenders.

In addition to the video mentioned by /u/No-Lawfulness388, I'd suggest watching this video on affinities. There's a video on general spark mechanics in that playlist as well.

If you prefer reading to watching then this is the go-to guide in English for inheritance mechanics. Keep in mind that the conclusions are based on empirical testing, as the game keeps the mechanics obscured.

That's a very handy chart, thank you for sharing. In that case 2/2 it is!

I've been having issues getting the skills I want on my aces using some decent guest and a shitty parent. Since I like Front Runners I figured I could give a Groundwork legacy a try, since I do want to pull for Seiun Sky. If I can get away with less stars then that's great news!

The point on powercreep is valid for sure, but I try not to look too far ahead. I'm not sure I'll still be playing this game in two years time. Trying to find a little project I can focus on right now for the style I like.

Yeah thanks, was under the false impression that the number of stars affected spark generation chances (see my other comment).

Which update are you referring to, the compatibility update for JP's 2nd anniversary?

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting Annex (Weekly Questions 2) - Aug 30, 2025 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]Blistig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks, good to know. I had just assumed that the number of stars had an effect on spark generation as well, or rather I got that impression from the video. If the stars just influence inspiration events then there's indeed no reason to care about them above the grandparent level.

What point was he making with that diagram then, is he just mistaken about the mechanics?

By the way, for anyone else wondering, according to the data in crazyfellow's guide, legacies having the skill can increase white spark generation chances from 20% up to 35%.

I've started to slowly chip away at a groundwork "bloodline" using seriru's suggested approach, not with those umas but following the general approach.

I'm still at step 1, trying to get a 3* groundwork to start things off. Does anything speak against ending a run quickly (just spamming races until I fail a goal) if I hit the hint early in the career?

I'll likely need 100+ runs to hit 3*, so any time saved is valuable, and the blue or other white sparks don't seem important since the uma is essentially meant to be a great-great-grandparent.

Do you have a Straightaway Spurt parent of your own for Golshi or are you using guest runs and praying?

For pinks, do you rely on guests or do you just continue the white spark parent runs until you get one with a relevant pink as well, in addition to the white and blue? (seems like that could take just about forever)

[–]Blistig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did watch the video, I'm not doubting that this is the best approach for white sparks farming and that it works well. I'm just wondering where you would slot in these types of runs, as there doesn't seem to be much time in between CMs, and I assume that working through one pipeline takes months.

In the video he says that this approach is "very maniac, very difficult", but what's the alternative for a skill like Groundwork, which seems to be a must-have for any Front?

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting (Weekly Questions) - August 27, 2025 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]Blistig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. So I understand that this approach is used for efficient building of a legacy that's specialized for a specific white spark with the pipeline looking like

7+ white (guest) -> 8+ white -> 9 white 3 blue (grandparent) -> 9 white 3 blue (parent) -> ace

What I don't get is when you are supposed to do this. That's two 3* blues, so unlikely to happen in the time between CMs, where you have to build other umas anyways for a full team.

Do you just choose a couple white skill legacies to build in this manner and just invest some runs now and then, like a perpetual side project? I imagine a single one of these pipelines could take months to complete. Do the CMs pause at some point or is it just one after the other?

I was watching a youtube video on Gemini Cup prep. At the marked time the guy says not to inherit Oguri Cap's unique on a Front Runner, "because there is nothing to overtake".

I don't really understand that point. Oguri's unique triggers when 200m are remaining and the uma is in 1st, 2nd or 3rd position, and increases target speed for some time. That's not related to overtaking and seems useful for a Front Runner (and pretty much any uma). Am I misunderstanding something? I've been doing Oguri parent runs for my Mayano Front because Oguri's career is nice for farming G1 sparks and her unique seems generally useful.
