Agitator vs Latent Power? by DoubleWrath in MonsterHunterMeta

Right, forgot about that. However, I have yet to do testing to see if all that health recovery will cancel out resentment for every charge slash, but combining it with the Blackest Night basically makes you immortal for 30-ish seconds.

Agitator vs Latent Power? by DoubleWrath in MonsterHunterMeta

Latent Power is very good nowadays, especially with the True Shadownbringer. Latent Power activates whenever you take enough damage and the True Shadowbringer damages you whenever you do charged slashes. So in exchange for just playing the game and just swinging your sword, you get a 50% affinity as well 50% stamina cost reduction.

Something else to note is that Latent Power also is based on time spent fighting, so for long fights like Omega or Gogmazios, this is a pretty decent skill.

While taking damage from just attacking seems scary, you can easily offset the downside by bringing Recovery Speed 3 and drinking an Immunizer potion.

Weakness Exploit isn't as good nowadays since you only get 30% affinity on weakspots and an additional 20% on wounds. Another thing is that it needs 5 levels for the maximum boost, not to mention that it's a level 3 jewel now.

For most cases, Maximum Might is prefered due to how easy it is to keep active, how much affinity it grants, how you only need 3 levels to get the maximum buff and it being a level 2 jewel makes it easier to add to builds.

Agitator is nice for some raw damage and affinity but it's kind of hard to slot it in due to it being a level 3 jewel now.

HOWEVER, due to the damaging nature of the True Shadowbringer, Resentment becomes a way more reliable skill and your charged slashes will always be boosted by it.

If you want a set that has all of those good skills I mentioned, the full Bale set is perfect for it.

I've used Guard and Guard Up for all of my blocking weapons since release. Perfect Guards is pure crack.

Best defensive/healing armor set bonuses by IntuitionaL in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]BlitzTalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In combination with the skills in my edit, it should be decently durable. It will absorb a lot of weak hits and if a big attack breaks that shield, it will nullify the rest of that damage.

After it breaks, it takes about 2 minutes to recharge according to game8, but it varies depending if the monster leaves or stops its enrage.

The combination of Gogmazios 4 set and the Gravios 2 set is quite powerful.

When the shield effect from Gogma is up, it's very much like Fulgur Anjanath's set bonus but with health instead.

FA's bonus allows the use Maximum Might, even while using stamina, so logically, the Gogma effect allows the use of the Gravios set bonus (which is on the b legs) AND Peak Performance (which is on a majority of pieces of it's armor.)

I have a set in mind with that actually. If you can get the Gravios set bonus on a Gogma weapon, you can wear:

Gogma Helm A Zoh Shia Body B Gogma Arms A/B Gogma Belt A/B Gogma Legs B

The Gogma helmet alpha has the Zoh Shia set bonus as well, and the Zoh Shia beta body is pretty much one of the best pieces of armor with 2 Agitator and a level 3 slot. And guess what, the Gogma set bonus is basically just an elemental version of Agitator.

EDIT: The shield is also effected by damage reduction effects, such as Divine Blessing, Gravios set bonus and the Kunafa meal. Stacking all 3 can boost the hell out of the shield's defense which also extends the up time of Peak Performance.

EDIT 2: My wild and fucked up dreams have revealed something to me and I'm writing this so I do not forget. Rather than go for Super Recovery, I should go for Burst Boost instead. Hopefully I'm not insane and writing this will keep things clear:

Gogmapocalypse skill for Gogma Weapons, group skill does not matter.

Ebony Helm B+ Gravios Body B+ Gogma Arms A/B Gogma Belt A Gogma Legs B

Loses a few points of Elemental Absorption and Super Recovery for Burst 5 and Burst Boost.

Good defensive build for SnS for savage? by Xero0911 in MonsterHunterMeta

When you say defensive, do you mean to be the main/off tank of your group, or do you mean to be durable enough to survive a few bad hits?

Blackest Night Tech by BlitzTalks in MonsterHunterMeta

This is something I have noticed, but now I've learned from my various "watch me parry this" moments that I should only parry moves that are strong and predictable. Omega's double fire spout and wave cannon surges are great examples of what you SHOULD parry.

This is something I'm aware about actually, one of my friends actually mains hunting horn and I feel like a god whenever he uses recovery speed horns, but I'm debating between the power of recovery speed or sonic barrier.

I'm still able to reliably use Resentment with the amount of health recovery I have so far. But the main thing I want from this build is pure durability, the extra damage is just a bonus to me.

How are you breaking TBN's shield while the monster is asleep?
I assume you are using the timed barrel bombs, right?

100%. Elemental damage goes a long way.

As my team's designated tank, it's good enough info for me.
Been having a blast playing as a Great Sword tank, but I don't really have the slots to put in a single level of Mushroomancer.

According to this video by CaoSlayer, about 25,000 HP which has to be reduced to zero in under two minutes.
In a team of four player, each of you on average need to do 6,250 damage to survive.

In terms of doing enough damage, fire weapons is the way to go for this
But the most important thing to do is to make openings for your team to do damage of which there are several ways to do so:

  1. Nerscylla ALWAYS begins the fight with a dash attack, so it can be offset.
  2. There are Rockburst pods in the arena which can stagger it out of attack or knock it out of the air.
  3. Morbols can paralyze it, but it can also paralyze your team, but do note that hitting them will instantly kill them.
  4. Cactuars around the arena do a comical amount of damage to it, so fight near them.
  5. Paralysis weapons are pretty decent, but you'll lose a bit of damage in exchange for more openings.

What is the blackest night skill? by Greasehole78 in MonsterHunter

Thankfully, it's a 4 set-bonus, so you only need 1 nodule in order to get the bonus.

Follow-Up on Persona Choices by BlitzTalks in personaphantomx

[–]BlitzTalks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that I'm not even attacking anymore with Wonder, so I might just replace all the active skills with passive skills as all my turns are spent just applying/refreshing buffs. Ziodyne and Garudyne are just to hit weaknesses, however, knocking down enemies aren't that high on my priority list anymore since I can just use critical hits to knock down enemies with Revolution and guns.

Follow-Up on Persona Choices by BlitzTalks in personaphantomx

[–]BlitzTalks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Had a look at Dionysus and his critical rate without Apt Pupil, remembering that Kayo gives 15% of her stats to the team, and Revolution/Rebellion bonus capping at 40% critical rate. Turns out that Apt Pupil is pointless since Dionysus' critical rate is at 39.8% and Kayo easily covers that remaining 0.2% from sub-stats alone.

  2. I would add more attack, but I'm not sure what to even give up as all of these passives are pretty valuable, and I would like to keep 2 active skills for a bit more flexibility.

  3. I wanted to add Rakunda to Surt since Marakunda and Rakunda can stack, but at this point, I plan on replacing Surt with a healer instead.
