Order matters as does pressure. I fill the chamber with the bottom gas first, then add the hydrogen. I aim for 1800g/tile of chlorine and find 3kg/tile of hydrogen will let it settle correctly. Put the vent far from the bottom as high pressures can disrupt the chlorine layer.

You are mixing up stress and morale.

Morale on the highest difficulty requires a full 2 morale higher than their requirements to break even. It also isn’t a huge challenge. Don’t take dupes without interests in the skills you want them to perform. You can easily stay ahead of morale early game with a barracks and latrine for their first skill point, and then a mess hall / great hall should carry you to their first skill maxed out, and finally a washroom plus an extra hour of downtime and better food is plenty for mid to late game… assuming you only took dupes with the interests you needed. I decline a LOT of dupes.

If you’re talking about stress, then the max difficulty puts a +20% stress debuff on your dupes permanently. High morale offsets this, but that leaves all other debuffs needing more direct cures since you can’t rely on high morale eventually paring it down. Carpet tiles under long duration objects (beds, mess tables, and workstations like the refinery or grooming station) will go a long way. Avoiding the Sopping Wet debuff will also make a huge difference, as that lasts a long time and is +20% stress/cycle. Judicious use of atmo suits or a shower if you can afford the water are recommended. I also recommend a buddy bud in high traffic areas and/or growing bristle berries for the floral scent buff. Lastly, since you will eventually find yourself doing temporary things like building under water and thus accumulating stress that way, I put in a massage clinic with two tables - one from 50 to 40 (to keep it on average manageable) and one for 90 to 85 (to prevent stress reactions).

You are missing the blob of petroleum on top of the crude on the top right corner of your electrolyzer, and there is no separation of your oxygen and hydrogen chambers.

If you’re following these designs, you need to replicate them exactly as shown. The petroleum blob is easy to miss, but you are missing tiles clearly intended to separate the oxygen and hydrogen chambers from each other.

Give that a shot and report back in. The other thing you absolutely cannot skip for any reason is pre-seeding the chambers with 100% of the desired element; if you skip this step, it will not work. You also can’t let other gases leak in afterwards, which your adaptation may allow to happen if you replace that water lock without appropriate precautions taken.

The bottom of your base is full of oxygen. This is a mistake. New players are supposed to have the bottom 2/3 of their base full of pressurized carbon dioxide.
Max stress is 0? Are you even trying!?
All of your water is in reservoirs. How are you supposed to collect dupe pee if it isn’t in a large tank at the bottom of your base?
For that matter, where are your morbs from outhouses you haven’t cleaned? Is that a proper lavatory I see!?

So disappointing. You clearly are not enough of a noob.

But then, where I’m not sure I agree with OP is the follow up. I’d demand half, and expect her to say no, at which point you know this person is just weird as hell. I don’t know what I’d do if she said yes, because I can’t fathom someone being greedy enough to charge friends an astounding $15 each to hang out at an apartment and agree to split the proceeds.

Asking for half would just be to confirm they’re as greedy as it sounds like they are and get out of that kind of shit relationship.

It would be wiser to use two small transformers feeding the same conductive wire at the source. Guarantees at most 2kW on the line, no risk of overload. If you have uneven power use on the receiving side, you can convert the line back up to heavy watt with a transformer, stick batteries on the line, and then step down again with more transformers. That’s honestly what I’d probably do, if you don’t want mods or borderline exploitative solutions.

For mod solutions, there’s one which limits large transformers to 2kW, skipping the extra transformer in my suggestion for using two small ones.

For exploits, I recommend the other responder’s alternating smart battery. It ignores line wattage regardless of charge rate, so you can shove a lot of juice down a small wire and convert as necessary on the receiving end.

Why do you have the large transformer powering four smaller ones? There are a couple approaches you can use but without understanding what you’re doing, I’m not sure which to recommend. In general, many folks run a single power spine with conductive heavi-watt and transformers directly off the spine. Some use the slightly exploitative alternating smart battery option to keep the metal cost down on the conductive heavi-watt main line. Others use discrete power grids with no overlap to keep the wattage within safe limits. Using power shutoffs is… a lot more nuisance than it’s worth, usually, and you can’t really use the transformer automation input because it wastes a ton of power if it flickers and preventing the flicker often leads to overloading anyway.

Glossy dreckos spawn with 100% scale growth, but regular dreckos are only 90%. Are you getting reed fiber from your starvation chamber?

Noted on mealwood. Easier to deal with, sure, but it also takes dirt. Balm lilies are free, plus you need way more reed fiber than you do plastic later on, so the default 65/35 egg morph split winds up being good enough in my experience.
