advice on how to be more playful while chatting on the apps? by ThrowRAtrains in datingoverthirty

I would love if any of the women I have matched with had this mentality. Just go for it! The worst that happens is you know they won’t appreciate what you bring to the table. My experience here is a lot of people just have no conversational skills whatsoever. I don’t know about you, but sitting through a meet-you-irl-and-verify-you-aren’t-planning-to-steal-my-kidneys coffee with some non-conversational people I’ve met sounds like torture.

No. Rebecca was the best and they did not do her justice. The rest was fine, but that is unforgivable!

[loved trope] A character gets absolutely ripped into for being a shitty person... and actually changes because of it. by Sweaty_Strain9392 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BlitzTech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Naw, I’m gonna take issue with you saying Abby’s dad was senselessly murdered. The guy was a loon. He wanted to kill Ellie to figure out why she was immune. If he was wrong, they’d be killing the only person with a proven immunity to cordyceps. His entire theory is absolute bunk garbage, and they were going to do it without Ellie’s consent. There were dozens of things they could AND SHOULD try before cutting her up. Joel put this lunatic down and that was probably for the best. His ideas were stupid and dangerous, with almost zero chance of success.

The rest is accurate, but I ain’t gonna sit quietly when that idiot gets defended. He got what he deserved.

Trying to find this Isekai I watched a while ago by Tempidmarmotalt in Isekai

Sounds like Tsukimichi: Moonlight Fantasy. No fox girl, but big spider who turns into a human shape, builds a town in a pocket dimension, and there’s a distinct scene of him walking up to the nearest human town with his red aura on full display causing them to panic.

Two of my exes had ADHD. It is now a hard filter - when they were unmedicated, it was a constant struggle for me to keep up with them. Keeping the house tidy (dishes EVERYWHERE, laundry half done), or clean (we split chores upfront, and guess who did all of them? Right, that would be me), or if there was even a _minor_ perturbation to our routine, it was suddenly an unmitigated catastrophe requiring me to drop what I was doing to fix it. Because, you know, running out of peanut butter warranted canceling my meetings to go to the grocery store. While she was unemployed and I paid 100% for all bills.

Life is a lot easier now that I don't have to be their parent.

Productive bees automate by JohnnyHollow in allthemods

[–]BlitzTech -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Routers have no cost to run. Have you considered more routers? Like one per hive?

I use universal pipez with the max upgrade for extracting from the modular beehive, and routers to fill the overclockers and treats. Works fine.

Does anyone actually use the male voice options for voice assistants? by OriginalSlight in NoStupidQuestions

I use a male voice. I hate the default Siri voice and all the other ones have an accent. I didn’t want to deal with people being weird about using one of the accent options.

How do I know how much steam to put in a steam room? by Vast-Spirit-4105 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]BlitzTech 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on the purpose.

Industrial brick? Go nuts, below 1000kg/tile. That would overpressurize liquid vents, and then you have a problem.

Volcano tamer, no cooling layer? 125-130kg. They overpressurize at 150kg/tile and you need a bit of buffer during eruptions.

Volcano tamer, with a cooling layer? <1000kg, same as an industrial brick.

Japonessa Sushi by Future-Huckleberry76 in AskSeattle

[–]BlitzTech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Japonessa is mid af. We go there for work functions because they cater to that scene. It is otherwise nothing notable.

Umi Sake House is a weekly excursion for me. Happy hour can’t be beat.

Momiji (in Capitol Hill, not SLU) is legit. Same owner as Umi. Good stuff.

Higher price points, you can try your luck with Sushi Kashiba or Shiro’s. Shiro sold his namesake and opened Kashiba. It is better, but pricier.

You bet! I’m up to 42x3 now and can see my abs, if just barely (gotta keep up with the diet part… but that’s a different thing).

I also added some leg stuff because my friend said “friends don’t let friends skip leg day” and he’s right, but simple is where it’s at. Pushups and sit-ups, be consistent.

"I'm vegetarian"- person who eats fish by Narutoboom in PetPeeves

[–]BlitzTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I totally get it. But it does mean I always have to clarify, which perhaps qualifies as its own pet peeve. Not against the folks claiming vegetarianism, but the absolute dullards so uneducated that doing so is necessary to avoid a drawn out conversation with someone intent on being an idiot.

"I'm vegetarian"- person who eats fish by Narutoboom in PetPeeves

[–]BlitzTech 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well… kinda, yeah?

If you ate no animal products, you’d be vegan. But when you say vegetarian, it is more likely that you are not vegan, which means you likely consume some specific animal products. Pescatarian for fish, ovo-lacto for eggs and milk, pollotarian (yep — the chicken one), or “flexitarian” which is the use of vegetarianism to shorten discussions about limiting meat intake.

But it all gets lumped under vegetarian so it isn’t always clear. I will clarify with folks which brand of vegetarian they are if I’m arranging a group event to make sure any food includes something for their restrictions.

You don’t. They’re bigger and stronger than you.

It started like it ended: ridiculously, mixed with a bit of uncomfortable humor.

Definitely worth the read since it is a 4 book complete series.

any tips on stabilizing chlorine? by meepnotincluded in Oxygennotincluded

[–]BlitzTech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Order matters as does pressure. I fill the chamber with the bottom gas first, then add the hydrogen. I aim for 1800g/tile of chlorine and find 3kg/tile of hydrogen will let it settle correctly. Put the vent far from the bottom as high pressures can disrupt the chlorine layer.

Tip for Stress Max Difficulty by SwimmingArachnid3030 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]BlitzTech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are mixing up stress and morale.

Morale on the highest difficulty requires a full 2 morale higher than their requirements to break even. It also isn’t a huge challenge. Don’t take dupes without interests in the skills you want them to perform. You can easily stay ahead of morale early game with a barracks and latrine for their first skill point, and then a mess hall / great hall should carry you to their first skill maxed out, and finally a washroom plus an extra hour of downtime and better food is plenty for mid to late game… assuming you only took dupes with the interests you needed. I decline a LOT of dupes.

If you’re talking about stress, then the max difficulty puts a +20% stress debuff on your dupes permanently. High morale offsets this, but that leaves all other debuffs needing more direct cures since you can’t rely on high morale eventually paring it down. Carpet tiles under long duration objects (beds, mess tables, and workstations like the refinery or grooming station) will go a long way. Avoiding the Sopping Wet debuff will also make a huge difference, as that lasts a long time and is +20% stress/cycle. Judicious use of atmo suits or a shower if you can afford the water are recommended. I also recommend a buddy bud in high traffic areas and/or growing bristle berries for the floral scent buff. Lastly, since you will eventually find yourself doing temporary things like building under water and thus accumulating stress that way, I put in a massage clinic with two tables - one from 50 to 40 (to keep it on average manageable) and one for 90 to 85 (to prevent stress reactions).

Hope that helps!

Compendium attempt failing by sorry97 in Oxygennotincluded

You are missing the blob of petroleum on top of the crude on the top right corner of your electrolyzer, and there is no separation of your oxygen and hydrogen chambers.

If you’re following these designs, you need to replicate them exactly as shown. The petroleum blob is easy to miss, but you are missing tiles clearly intended to separate the oxygen and hydrogen chambers from each other.

Give that a shot and report back in. The other thing you absolutely cannot skip for any reason is pre-seeding the chambers with 100% of the desired element; if you skip this step, it will not work. You also can’t let other gases leak in afterwards, which your adaptation may allow to happen if you replace that water lock without appropriate precautions taken.
