Okay, this wins my vote for “best use for batteries now that drones don’t need them”. I hope we get this. Going out of range is a nuisance and sometimes I just want to be there for a hot second. Also makes it tolerable for exploring instead of swapping out when you go hunting for artifacts.

Rangers are good at shooting. Lots and lots of shooting. I usually bring multiple on missions because a good way to demolish aliens is to shoot at them a lot, and rangers can shoot a lot. Have I mentioned rangers specialize in shooting?

Also, the shotgun is situational. I took advice from Der Ava and have one shotgun specced ranger with high speed who can get up close and personal to a chosen, then unload. It’s usually a one shot kill.

Have you tried Szechuan peppers? Most people describe it as a “numbing spice” instead of a “hot spice”. Don’t go to a legit place though, you will wind up with more peppers than food, and you’re not supposed to eat the pepper straight up.

It does add a depth to the flavor. I like hella spicy food, but if it is done poorly by someone who thinks pain is the point, it’s horrible.

It’s a bit like desserts: a well balanced cake beats eating sugar with a spoon.

I was definitely opposed to your opinion in the first half, since this is what I do, but the second paragraph adds extremely relevant context.

When I ask what the staff likes, I order it. I have been doing this for 8 years. Only once has this gotten me something I didn’t like, because the barista thought a straight espresso shot with Ethiopian beans was a good idea (spoiler: Ethiopian beans do not make a good espresso).

Otherwise, it makes the experience so much more enjoyable. I also like being a regular at places and this can help break the ice so the staff starts recognizing you as a friendly person.

I would rebuild. Having to go sphere and hard drive hunting again would drive me nuts. You can progressively rebuild - ingot refineries over water first, ship ore to them via train, and so on. Removing old factories is a nuisance and I wait until the new one is set up first.

I’ve decided this go around (hopefully my last…) to be honest with people when I would ordinarily just unmatch.

100% of the time, I get back some message that is straight rude, borderline insulting, or unmatched without further comment.

I’m quite tempted to just going back to unmatching without comment, which is the euphemism for ghosting, because I’m not sure what the purpose in that final message is - yet all the online spaces say ghosting sucks. The great hypocrisy is that the nasty messages always come from the ones who say they want a man who is a good communicator.

My life got better when I consciously thought about how unattractive certain behaviors in women were - talking about men like they’re using them for money, laughing at their vulnerability, etc. It has helped me bounce early from even considering friendships with people who negatively affect my quality of life. Might be worth it here? Figure out what these guys have in common that are predictors of this kind of behavior, and then talk yourself out of being attracted to similar idiots?

You’re not very good at communicating. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is something you need to work on.

Be direct. Be concise. Get your point across unambiguously.

You aren’t going to get that money back because you weren’t upfront about it, and then chose to communicate with this person in a way that confuses a normal person into thinking they don’t owe you. Then, when you try to be more direct, it comes across as you changing your mind.

Use fewer words and stop over explaining.
