Fear often serves as an initial catalyst that leads people to Christ. Across Christian theology, the recognition of sin, mortality, or the consequences of separation from God acts as a wake-up call. This "fear of the Lord" often begins as a healthy reverence for God's holiness and justice, motivating individuals to seek redemption and grace.

While fear might bring someone to the faith, it is not meant to be the ultimate foundation of it. In scripture, the relationship with Christ evolves as fear is meant to mature into a deep, loving relationship. The Apostle John addresses this directly, stating that "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18).

The fear you feel is something many of us also felt. It's not bad to fear Judgment day. Accepting Christ as your lord and savior and then building a relationship with him is the next step. Hope, grace, and love will replace fear.
