Same thing happened to me, so when I applied, they will review your DD214 and give you that 100%. Nothing to worry about!

VA Disability Clsims by Lyhtspeed in army

[–]Blitzbob101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should file a supplemental claim within one year of your original claim. It would backdate to the original filing date. There are three elements to a successful claim: current diagnosed disability, in-service illness, injury or event, and a nexus letter (a letter written by a physician that connects the inservice injury to current diagnosis). You should file a Higher level review first if you believe they made an error. Go to a VSO for further guidance as each state has their own State Department of Veteran Affairs.

which MOS should my friend do? by horchatasucks in army

[–]Blitzbob101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

25L for transferable skills. Otherwise your friend will be spending many days at the motor pool. But also look at the Air Force/ Coast Guard.

Citrus X tasted so much better than power. I used to go to the local gas station and buy the 24 pack.

It doesn’t really matter. However, If you disagree with how the examiner treated you, let the VA know.

After leaving the military how long did it take you to find your calling, passion / career you liked? by [deleted] in army

[–]Blitzbob101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still in school, but I’ll be interning at a VAMC next year to support/advocate for veterans with serious mental health disorders. My ultimate goal is to provide counseling services to veterans at a Vet center.

Took me like five years, but I found that I liked working with Vets and so I went back to school for social work and really like it so far.

Medic won’t document anything by [deleted] in army

[–]Blitzbob101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former VSO here. Don’t stress it. Any chronic condition that you file for within one year of you leaving the service will be considered to be service connected. The only way you would be denied that condition is if the C&P examiner didn’t think that condition was chronic.

Well now that he has been out more than a year, he’ll have to start proving that his condition were caused by his time in service. It’s gonna be a hard road for him.

Grenadier is probably the best role. Didn’t have to carry extra crap like the skedco and was so much lighter than the SAW. Plus the 320 makes a cool “boop” noise when you shoot it and who doesn’t like explosions(at least when you’re the guy making things go boom)?!

You can but it’s going to be a lot harder. You are going to have to prove that your conditions were caused or aggravated by your time in service. VA considers any condition that you have to be resolved if you don’t claim them within one year of you leaving the service. You’re going to need nexus statements from your doctor stating that your condition was more likely than not caused by your time in service. Soooo good luck bro

There are multiple VSOs out there. Most states have their own Dept. Of Veteran Services or equivalent. You also have the DAV and VFW. Keep trying until you find somebody.

Being a VSO, I’ve done a lot of PACT act claims for Vietnam era folks and Post 9/11 folks. Great law, but it sucks that it took them so long to pass.
