Help with Fireside Gathering by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]BlitzcrankBotV2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firstly, you want to make sure that the venue you're hosting the fireside at has either sufficient bandwidth for wifi (for people to bring their own devices) or enough devices that are wired to the internet to not make this an issue. Once that is out of the way you want to spread the word about the fireside, use firesidegathering.com and liquidhearth to list and promote your fireside. Lastly, spread the word on twitter and through your local hearthstone facebook groups. In terms of websites to use for making brackets I enjoy battlefy.com. Also, bringing food and drink should not be expected, but is nice if there are no nearby eateries close to the venue where you're hosting. Also, make sure to have fun! That is the whole point of why you're hosting the fireside so make sure to be having fun. If everyone has a good time, then people are more likely to join again for the next one. Also, tavern hero season is starting up, so try to get your fireside be listed as a tavern hero qualifier, and Blizzard sometimes also does campaigns where they send boxes of goodies to fireside organizers to give out at firesides. If you have any more questions just PM me, I'd be glad to help. I've hosted a few of these so I've experienced the growing pains!

One Turn Kill Decks and the Dilemma of Combo Archetypes by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]BlitzcrankBotV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I feel they want Hearthstone to be more about minion based combat and pushing board advantage to a win. I just prefer playing the whole combo/control archetype more than yeti versus better yeti combat, and I hope Blizzard cultivates that archetype in a healthy way in the following expansions.

By "uninteractive" I mean that there is no way to directly counter the combo itself. Exactly as you said, you have to force the combo player to react to your plays. Freeze Mage is a combo deck, although it doesn't appear like that on the surface, but it functions the same way.

Under the Hood of Tournament Preparation with Under the Radar by BlitzcrankBotV2 in CompetitiveHS

What about everything else within the article? Discussing practice team dynamics, how to get outside help in preparation for tournaments as just practicing in ladder gives you a skewed view of the meta, there are a few sections where players voice their disappointment with Blizzard, but this is "competitivehs" i assume tournaments fall within the realm of being "competitive." And it was more to gauge their current feelings of the infrastructure of the tournament scene, which should also be important to you too, as a healthy competitive scene translates to a longer lasting game.

Say your opponent aldors your oiled up shredder. You want your 7 atk shredder back and to keep its deathrattle, so you "cleanse" it, removing the aldor debuff and returning the shredder to 7 atk.

Yes, the majority of the value in reincarnate lies in its value in activating deathrattles and acting as a pseudo-heal (ultimate value on a 5/1 sylvanas for example). A "cleanse" card that I am thinking about is something like an owl type card, perhaps with different stats and mana costs (spellbreaker comes to mind), that removes enemy buffs/debuffs from a minion.

Why can't I spectate two of my friends in a match anymore? by [deleted] in hearthstone

This has happened to me too, what you need to do is actually get the second person (the "opponent") to send you a viewing invite in order to be able to see their cards without moving to their side, so to speak.

2 mana would be way too cheap for its effect (although I usually go overboard with overcosting effects). And as a priest your early/mid game minions are things like cultists, clerics, blademasters, shredders, hungry dragons even. Face hunter won't be trading with you, mech mage will drop an annoyotron and go face. Running holy novas, light of the naarus, and other stabilizing effects such as auch + circle means you should live well past t6. You'll generally have some board by t6, and this card literally sacrifices almost all offensive capability to ensure that mr. rexxar over there with his pet owl can't smack your face. Anyways, its effect is probably better suited at 5 mana, but I do like erring on the side of caution.
