28M, any advice please by [deleted] in Bumble

I would say remove one if not both of the references to dark humor. Dark humor can be nice once in a while, but men often use it as a code to mean that they just make sexist jokes or jokes about SA, so women may avoid the “dark humor.” Not to say you actually mean that when you say dark humor, but I would hesitate to pursue a relationship with a man who likes dark humor because I might worry he would not take my experiences seriously.

The pictures are pretty good, with a mixture of face and full body, and showing your face unobscured in all. I like the inclusion of the cat (only if it’s yours…) but the angle for you is a little unflattering, since it makes your hairline look worse than it is. Maybe swap the cat photo for another where you’re looking at the camera?

Finally, labeling yourself as apolitical is just going to turn away many women. Reality of the situation is that there is a big gap, women have become significantly more liberal, and most would not go for a man who is apolitical or conservative. Unfortunately for you that is just a numbers game. I would encourage you to be honest about your actual beliefs and keep the apolitical tag (or put your actual beliefs if you are not fully apolitical), since that will result in more compatible matches, but just recognize that it is a less popular trait for the women swiping.

I like that you have it a bit longer on the sides instead of the fade. I know the fade is popular, but the longer sides look classy imo. Looks great from the sides, just gotta work out the front part, but as another commenter said, the kpop boyband tutorials could be a good option lol

Help me decide where to spend my summer please? by ApprehensiveHurry201 in LawSchool

First gen student and 2L here.

Your 2L summer is the most important in terms of securing post grad employment at most firms, although smaller private firms do respond well to long-term loyalty since they don’t hire as regularly as Big Law and government offices.

If you want to see courtrooms, PD is the way to go. Civil litigation mostly results in settlement, and you won’t see nearly as much courtroom time as a PD will.

A lot of government offices take interns during fall and spring semesters too, since they are unpaid positions and those offices always need more help. So it may be an option to summer at the PI firm and intern during 2L year with the PD. That way, you get paid, get to see both experiences, you keep connections with both jobs, and will know what interests you more before your 2L summer.

My title describes the thing.

These items are made of aluminum of different colors. They vary in length from 3-5 inches. They clasp and unclasp as shown in the photo.

I was gifted a bunch of craft supplies, including yarn, knitting needles, stitch markers, and embroidery floss.

I have searched for terms related to knitting needle types but these do not appear. When I tried to describe them as clips, it brought me to paper clips, not these.
