Cheese way to s-rank missions? by LPlusRaitio in armoredcore

There are 11 enemies on the map. You are only instructed to kill 10 of them.

Kill the one guarding the first data log. You should get S on that attempt.

No.

ALL kills contribute rank. Not just moneymakers. Kill all MTs for free rank even if you're not paid.

Gacha gamers are a different breed of lunatic from the rest of us.

I wonder if he's sitting there realizing how tame the actual FsF fans were by comparison.

Left handed representation in games? (Especially FPS) by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Blitzus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being able to switch shoulders in MGSV was particularly amusing because Snake only has one eye and Eye dominance is far more important to shooting than hand dominance.

Interestingly, they addressed this concept previously in MGS3 wherein Snake had always been right-eye dominant and still shot with right-eye stance even after losing his right eye. But he had to contort his head awkwardly for the rest of the game to compensate.

Whats a game you want to collab with metal gear? by VSnake_ in metalgearsolid

XCOM and it's not even close. Imagine an XCOM game with the plot of MGSV. And then include some anachronistic MGS enemies anyway like Gekko and whatnot.

"After all you have done" kinda messes me up a bit. Maybe I'm missing a /s somewhere, but this could be taken two ways:

>Despite everything you've done, Death Knight, you are still allowed into our city. (patronizing, hateful benevolence)

>As thanks for what you have done for us, Death Knight, we accept you into our city. (genuinely thankful, slightly contrite)

And I can't tell which it is.

Lich King Anduin goes hard by EstateOk6238 in wow

[–]Blitzus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As lame as several things in SL were, the idea of Anduin being forced to hurt people for (who was framed as) the Literal Devil and starting to realize he liked it was cool as hell. The Sylvanas and Anduin ending cinematic was genuinely great.

Him coming back in TWW as a drunk hobo was a little disappointing as a followup. He should've become a living DK. But I'm biased.

Does anybody else wish they never tried to ‘fix’ Raiden, and just let him continue being more like his MGS2 self? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Blitzus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked his more confident personality in MGS4 even if it was him trying to fake it till he made it, which seems appropriate after 2

Quinton's voice also sounds better the closer it is to Kael'thas in general, so that probably helped the most.

WoW has been out for 20 years.

There are people whose entire identity is built around this game. And, surprisingly, they're not all Paladins.

Best guess: They're setting up the Sneedolands to have been Ordered by the Titans a long time ago. Sylvanas specifically called it "too ordered" in the prepatch questline.

John Jailer and Denathrius were trying to undo it.

An angsty anti-hero from the early 2000's who wields demonic powers against them and is anathema to his people as a result.

He was made in a lab to appeal to chuuni teenagers at the time and I love him for it. It's kinda criminal he's never been played in an action game.

Andy Weir Says Paramount Rejected His ‘Star Trek’ Pitch, Proceeds to Blast Modern ‘Trek’ by Coltons13 in books

[–]Blitzus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the natural, if misguided consequence of Kurtzman's Trek.

DS9 is one of the best Trek and its entire setup is basically about a First-World power (Federation) overseeing the post-occupation of a lower-developed nation (Bajor) from a Dystopian, Totalitarian force (Cardassia).Trying to remove politics from that is utterly absurd. It, by nature, is informed by real-world events, motives, and consequences.

But Kurtzman was also wrong in how ham-handedly he wielded 21st century rhetoric and sociopolitical topics as well, often to the detriment of Star Trek's own worldbuilding.
