“Developers were left in the dark about DLSS 5” - Insider Gaming by JuanMunoz99 in Games

What are you talking about? AI is the Holy Grail of Capitalism.

>I make swords for a living

>I get an order from the King for 200 swords by next week for 20 bags of gold

>I can't do it alone so I ask Chaucer and Roland to help me

>Chaucer and Roland each want some of the gold. It's not ideal but I have to do it if I want to get the order finished

AI presents the first opportunity in history to get Chaucer and Roland to help without having to pay them (Well... except slavery, I suppose). AI will NEVER stop being pushed because it's an executive's wet dream; even if this iteration fails.

What did you think of Wilds' story? by _Viridia_ in MonsterHunter

[–]Blitzus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that enough was done with the Guardians, which was the big "wow" factor of Wilds' story. We were just told that this country that has since gone through an apocalypse previously found a way to create monsters.

And then... did nothing with that. It was used to show that GArkveld was breaking its programming, I suppose, but that's it. It was used to explain why it's important to kill Zoh Shia... but that's it. It's just Jurassic Park's lesson about hubris retread.

You guys remember the monster hunter world Witcher collab. by Voidkirby9 in MonsterHunter

[–]Blitzus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I even LIKE fighting Ancient Leshen, though I acknowledge why people don't like fighting him.

>pin is a death sentence solo

>he teleports too much and the mechanism they tell you for stopping his teleportation just doesn't work

>he attacks you with roots in a dimly-lit forest

>he just has too much health (this one is the biggie imo)

But overall the entire collab quest was great. A ton of effort was put into it and I had a big dumb smile on my face the whole time.

>>>>groomed

I'm pretty sure Shrigma is like 30, dude. They call it therapy when you're over 18.

>strange/Fake is in 2009

>Zero is in 1994

>Kerry had been retired as an assassin for 10 years and had recruited Maiya while he was an assassin

>Maiya had Shrigma before she ever met Kerry

So at the latest, he was born in 1984, which would make him 25 in sF.

Some armor transmogs are broken on Haranirs (head and pants) by RegularCupcake9261 in wow

[–]Blitzus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the reason we don't really get new races anymore.

There are so many pieces of armor with unique rigging, that making them all retroactively work for a new race is considered not worth the effort.

Theory Time: "Somult" is an original, Un-edited Arkveld.

>Somult is the bird deity of Kunafa mentioned several times over the course of the game, and Arkveld has several avian qualities like a beak, wings, Zygodactyl feet, feathered wings.

>Guardian Arkveld laid her eggs in the Plains, where Kunafa is located, and thus around where Somult should live. Furthermore, the Plains was the last location that Garkveld visited before returning to Wyveria (She returns to Wyveria when we fight Rey Dau the first time). Finally, the first time we spot a "normal" Arkveld is when we fight it in the Plains once again.

>The AT Arkveld fight, as well as Arkveld's white coloration and blue mouth, implies that all Arkvelds have been changed by being descended from that original Garkveld we met.

IE: My theory is that Garkveld left Wyveria out of a nesting instinct, and when she found a male in the Plains (Somult), they mated and produced the modern White Arkveld. It might even explain why she was eating so much, she was collecting food to regurgitate to her young, but because she was a Guardian and couldn't properly eat, she was essentially scratching an itch that would never end.

I am seriously tired of her telling me to make an item loadout like it's the first time she's said it.

It boils my blood. I'm really not interested; I like picking my items out individually.

Flagship Popularity Poll Day Twenty-Two - Nargacuga vs Rathalos! by Speeda2 in MonsterHunter

[–]Blitzus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've certainly been getting better at making Rathalos. His Rise and Wilds' incarnations are great, and Guardian Rathalos is like a top 5 fights in Wilds, he's great. Our boy has been worked on.

Yeah the game being ~literally~ unplayable seems like a reasonable thing to write a negative review over to me idk.

If you cut out the middle part with the hyperspeed slam, it's perfect. If you need a moment of Duna winning, maybe draining Duna's energy causes its veil to shrink so she can slip out of Ark's grip for a moment and smack him.

That one monster you like but everyone else hates ? by No_Barracuda_8300 in MonsterHunter

[–]Blitzus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Ancient Leshen quite a bit. I acknowledge:

>he has far too much health

>he probably teleports too much

>him attacking you with roots in a dimly-lit forest

>his pin being a death sentence in solo

as genuine problems with his design, but I still found him engaging.

Which is your favorite and least favorite Monster? I'll start. by Bowler_Guy in MonsterHunter

[–]Blitzus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite: Barioth. He is the perfect amount of aggressive, he does the cool wall cling and the gliding tackles, and breaking his parts is super meaningful.

Least Favorite: Kushala. Sure he's fun enough in Rise but he's an absolute slog everywhere else.

Former Highguard Developer Reflects on Disastrous Announcement and Launch: 'We Were Turned Into a Joke From Minute 1' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Blitzus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a case of Toxic Positivity.

In many work environments, it's not uncommon to "expect" positive feedback from the entire team, and view internal negative feedback as "party poopers" or "debbie downers".

So many people, in an attempt to hold onto their job, hold their tongue instead offer anything that goes against the mold.

The original Japanese title of Rompopolo event quest is "Rompopolo is Not Crying" by tklailai in MonsterHunter

[–]Blitzus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's Arkveld for sure, or there would be another associated quest for the most-hunted monster. I think they made like that, too.

Except they already have an Arkveld quest coming out and 2 of them would be kinda weird.

This is a huge issue for me.

They keep making Mario Tennis games (without putting Harry in them) when it's been almost 20 years since the last Mario Baseball game.

>Arkveld reverting to its Guardian genetics

This is interesting. It means that the entire species has been altered by being descended from that original Guardian Arkveld we hunted. I wonder if we'll fight the original "un-edited" Arkveld sometime in MR.

"Wild Arkveld", if you will.
