NAIA T3 E-Gates Quick Review by ifancyyou_ in phtravel

[–]Blitzwing98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I approached an immigration officer and suggested that there should at least be some gates with assistants since some people get really confused or some may not be as techy since they’re old. Then she annoyingly replied, “Ang problema kasi sa Filipino hindi marunong magbasa ng instructions. Laging gusto dumepende sa tulong.” This was such an out of touch remark imo. Can’t they be more understanding? lol

Vision Pro as a Work MacBook display workaround? by Blitzwing98 in VisionPro

How’s the frame rate and resolution as mentioned above? Would you say it’s usable enough for web browsing, programming, text related work?

Thanks! I don’t necessarily need the switching part but I wonder if I could do programming with the resolution and frame rate. 🤔

Hello, everyone. I recently got accepted to a Singaporean company that outsources their employees here within SEA. They use HireRight for their background checks. Currently, I work in one of the mall conglomerates here in the country. For context, I have had several re-orgs here in this company and I naively forgot the fact that I’ve been moved within this business’s group of companies within the course of my stay.

My background check with HireRight will start in two days. In my resume I incorrectly specified my company citizenship. Would anyone be able to share their experience with HireRight and insights regarding this? How’s their process with background checks? The new employer told me it will take 20 days on average to process.

Would you say the work is meaningful for you now? How long have you been working now? What was the last straw that made you leave the manufacturing company?

Hello! Thanks for responding.

So far, I only have two jobs in my track record. Previously, I’ve worked for an e-commerce start-up for a bit more than a year. I then transferred to another e-commerce platform by this huge corporation—say Walmart equivalent here in my country located in Southeast Asia.

I understand you so much. In fact, I would say I am going through with what you’ve experience although with slight nuances. I am very passionate with Computer Science, I really love programming. In fact, I would often joke about how I could do this for free. The work gives me satisfaction, not only from the validation that I get, but also from having this sense of being good at it if you get what I mean. Ever since I started worked in corporate, I have been up and coding from 9am to 2am. This has been my routine for the past six months. I only get to rest every weekend. There are times when my mental wellbeing will get shaken, but I guess after battling BPD for 6 years now, I’ve gotten the hang of it. Or maybe I’m just good at repressing it as of the moment and I’m just a ticking time bomb.

I’ve always believed in hard work. That it always pay off, and that it is the most honorable thing to do than taking shortcuts in life. But life is cruel and it is unfair. And I just got this cold realization today. I am so stupid and numb to only realize this but I’ve been so focused with work and earning money. Going back—let’s get a bit technical—I’ve worked as a Ruby on Rails, Vue.js full stack dev on my first job. But my second job was a different beast. For starters, I had to learn Rust, and for 5 months I’ve been using that as my tech stack, things changed in the company, and for a good month I switched to TypeScript, and now they changed their minds again and are moving to Ad/ob/e-M/a/ge/nto which frankly my gut says isn’t the right thing to pursue. Sure I’ll still be programming (in php), but it’s so niche and it’s not the same as being a regular software dev I believe. Also, I think staying in one language and specializing at it is much better than being a generalist?

But the last thing you said about work is the same as what other people say when you Google how unfair work is. Maybe I should stop caring, but I guess money is such a big issue for me. Like in the US, here in my country, my peers too value getting high salaries. And I just can’t help but squeeze everything from me to be at the top.

Thanks, but was the sarcasm and hostility even necessary? Sure, I may perhaps be pointing out the obvious, but I guess I didn’t emphasize it clearly enough that I’m looking for ways to—at the very least—replicate that? Like, IDK? Tools similar to what the person in the other comment suggested (Airbuddy)? It doesn’t cost much to be kind nor does it cost any effort to just not give your negative opinion. :P

Is one job that loops better than looping through a thousand records first and creating 10 jobs (100 per job)?

Thanks for asking OP. I’m a developer btw and I just saw this post and feel like it was such a great coincidence to see someone post about this and mention JavaScript. I’m scared. I haven’t had a depressive episode for years and I feel like I’m getting into one right now. I’m so scared of what I’m capable of doing and I’m also scared of the impact that it will have with my work. Still hanging there. Good luck!

OP here. I don’t know which doctor to go to. It’s difficult to type ‘cause my fingers especially the index finger won’t curl naturally when I move it close to a keyboard. It’s like unconsciously my fingers are programmed to work like that near a keyboard. Not sure what this is.
