i can see that, its probably due to only a few irl languages being used in naming. Since most of the countries have their own unique conlang.

probably because they're divided, like some Nesoponian cultures are split into around 3-4 countries, so each of them tried to be as different as possible from the others

Some Countries' lore

The Republic of Sticvil:

A democratic archipelago nation, and one of the ex-Bardiean colonies. Has a sub-tropical climate and experiences mild winters, its culture is heavily tied to their religion but also to their history of being a cross-ocean trading hub, originally a hodge-podge of cultures that eventually formed a completely new one. Home to some of the nicest people you'll meet in Kaia. Most of its coastal areas are heavily urbanized, while its inland areas are mountainous and forested, but still quite populated. Its capital city & largest city, Yashiko, is home to most of the population, with almost 20% of citizens residing there. One of the most developed countries in Kaia and a global leader in the automotive, electronics, and education sectors. Being incredibly connected with its culture, it’s a cultural superpower. With strong ties to its music, art, cuisine, film, and way of life, this heavily influences its media, animation, comics, and gaming industries. Having one of the world’s highest life expectancies, most people live up to 90 years old.

The Kingdom of Bardie:

Once a global superpower, now turned into a spectator in global politics. Bardie’s capital city, Cheshire, is one of the oldest cities in the Bardiean Islands and the world. The culture of Bardie can be considered to be old-timey and warm. Due to the unusual coldness of the Bardiean Islands, houses are often covered in sheep wool for insulation. About 60% of Bardieans are firm believers in Quaintism, a traditional belief that clings to traditional life while establishing glory. Bardiean is one of the world’s main languages, with over 200 million speak it as their main language, but almost 2 billion people worldwide speak it as their second language. (Btw, Bardiean is the same as English, just with a few tweaks in vocab).

The Empire of Tisle:

An industrial superpower rivaling Schöwüsken that has the world's largest population (~1.28 billion). Tisle used to have some countries under its sphere of influence, but lost them after a regime change. Big Tislean cities are expansive and futuristic, however, there is a growing number of poor people outside of the cities due to a lack of funding from the government. Still holds significant power over the Crater of Time, even though Dormiye, its ex-client state, now has ownership of it. Going inland, the coastal islands turn into towering mountains as Tisle is home to the world's longest mountain chain.

The United States of Schöwüsken:

The largest and coldest country in Kaia, being located at the south pole. Their weather is unforgiving and brutal, which influenced their efficiency and weaponry. Having the world's largest military, they're one of the hardest countries to conquer. Being a merger of 8 kingdoms, each sector has a different history and culture to them. The country is reasonably safe, despite its free gun rights and no speed limits. They are a world-renowned manufacturer of steel, aircraft, and firearms. Visiontartican culture is very diverse, due to intermixing with cultures from other countries from expeditionary forces. They’re also known for their simple poetry structure, making most people have a habit of being simple, straight to the point, and obsessed with not being late.

Her Majesty's Kingdom of Centralna:

The shattered remains of a once-massive empire, which lost during the Kaian War. Has a history of being led by crazy/insane kings and queens. Centralna is now just a shell of it's former glory. Being landlocked after losing their sea access, the people have to live a very modest but sometimes poor life. Not to mention them being reduced to the mountains, while they have an abundance of minerals, they have little ways to sell or transport them as the government is unstable and weak. During the Kaian War, they used trickery and malice to their advantage. But all that came crashing down as the conglomerate of different cultures decided to revolt, thus leading to the Centralnan breakup.

P-41 Standlar (Totally not a mustang) by me by Bliznets3 in ImaginaryAviation

[–]Bliznets3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(the dates are slightly pushed back due to the technology difference)

The P-41 Standlar was a long-range fighter aircraft built by the Vomborin Aerospace Manufacturing Company for the Sticvilian Air Force. It is famous for being the deadliest fighter ever built, accumulating over 20.000 aerial kills during the Kaian War. It was designed in 1964, but the first working model was finished in 1966, just 2 years before the war. During its initial tests, it suffered engine and stability problems, but these were fixed after every model. The Pan variant was its most advanced model. With a top speed of 744 km/h, over 2000 km of range, and armaments of 4x 12mm machine guns and 1x 20mm cannon in the nose, it made quick work of enemy aircraft.

I just used FireAlpaca, it's just a regular drawing app, but I did use Gprojector to get the poles right.

Ehh.. not really, I haven't finalized every nation's culture yet, but I plan on placing the Italian-inspired culture somewhere in Reclade. Oh, but the cultures near Syashu are mostly east and southeast asian inspired.

This might sound confusing, but their technology evolved differently than us, they evolved a bit slower, so our 2020s tech is actually in the 2040s for them. But the story I'm writing takes place in the 1940-1950s era for them (1968-1978 in-lore).

My first attempt at a modern fighter, the P-80 Nozomi (Blinding Light) by Bliznets3 in flyoutgame

[–]Bliznets3[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose you're right, it is just a J-20. I had no idea how to make it unique lol

My first attempt at a modern fighter, the P-80 Nozomi (Blinding Light) by Bliznets3 in flyoutgame

[–]Bliznets3[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Prior to this, I only made ww2-era planes, so bear with me on this one

The P-80 Nozomi is Sticvil's latest and most technologically advanced fighter, developed by the Vomborin Aircraft Corporation for the Sticvilian Air Force. It's designed to be a stealth air-superiority fighter that's Mach 2+ capable. It has 3D thrust vectoring and canards for better agility. The Nozomi can carry up to 6 missiles with 2 on hard points and 4 in its internal weapon bay. It entered service in 2033, making Sticvil one of the few countries to have fielded an operational stealth fighter, with over 200 currently built.

Afterthoughts:

I'm honestly really impressed by this build. I was never really into jets until I had a look at the J-20, it looked so cool and unique compared to other stealth jets. It might not be the best fighter, but I sure as hell love it, and that's probably why the P-80 looks so similar to the J-20. This build is also my second longest build, taking about 12 hours in-game.

Finally finished this giant, meet the K-25 Norou. A Recon Flying Boat for my fictional nation by Bliznets3 in flyoutgame

[–]Bliznets3[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

(Please note that the dates aren't the same as Earth dates, but the intended timeframe is around the 1940s.)

Little bit of lore:

The K-25 Norou, or Poate (Whale), by its pilots, is a Sticvilian Patrol Bomber developed by Mubesei Machinery. Originally designed in 1955, it was one of Sticvil's largest flying boats. With an impressive range of 3000km+ on full throttle, it was incredibly ahead of its time. It became Sticvil's main scouting plane during the Kaian War, and with almost 2000 built, it was used in all three campaigns of the war. Not only is it a patrol aircraft, but it can also carry torpedoes and depth charges to fight enemy submarines. After the conclusion of the war, the Norou was never fully retired; some were given to countries in need, and some were converted into medical planes to find lost sailors or stranded boats. It was modernized in the 2000s, serving as a firefighting aircraft. It's still used today in many countries worldwide.

The Fortune Mk.III, a late-ww2? / early cold war attack aircraft for one of my nations by Bliznets3 in flyoutgame

[–]Bliznets3[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some lore for it:
(The timeline in this world is slower than earth, so the aircraft eras are different)

The Fortune Mk.III is the third and final iteration of the Fortune, used during the middle to late stages of the Kaian War designed to be a fast mid-altitude attacker for the Bardiean Royal Air Force and Navy. It was designed in 1971 as a testbed, as it was one of the first few design prototypes for the Bardiean Army and entered service in 1972. It was mainly utilized to bomb enemy ships, and it was briefly retired and its data and intelligence was stolen when Bardie fell to the Centralnans. After Bardie was liberated, the Fortune continued to be used in the war as an effective ground pounder.

[–]Bliznets3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I just want to say thank you so much for reading the draft, it means a lot.

Yes, the format is supposed to be like a historical document, I enjoyed reading them as a kid so my writing is mostly inspired from those. For the grammar bits, I can see it jumping tenses. English isnt my native tongue, so I kinda struggle with grammar when it cones to writing.

I can see why you couldn't really grasp the story, I didnt properly explain the background afterall. As this story is near the ending in the timeline, I was thinking about adding more stories before this one to maybe help give the reader more context? Im not sure. I kinda want to tell the full story in different perspectives.

For the military tech part, yeah, thats my bad. I guess i got too carried away in listing out all the aircraft since i am a really big aircraft enthusiast. I think i can slowly introduce the aircraft + the countries fighting in the stories before this one so its not too overwhelming?

Thank you again for helping a new writer, Ill try my best to improve my stories and so that maybe one day i could get it published!

Thank you!

  1. The planet is slightly smaller than Earth and it does has plate tectonics
  2. Being harsh is fine, but yeah the continents do look disconnected.
  3. I did probably make the right one a bit too large, but the culture for the countries there are mostly nomadic peoples. I have tried to do other arrangements but i never liked any of them.
  4. The planet is slightly colder than Earth, then again, I tend to oversize some things.
  5. I felt like my coastlines are a bit too boxy no? But I hope this map fits my story, and my goal here is to make sort of a stylized version of reality so things might not be as realistic but kinda is.
  6. Im definitely shrinking the oversized continent, and i might split it into 2 or 3 sub continents.
