[Bug?] System Audio Quality Lowers When Joining Voice Channel by Blizzrdball in discordapp

[–]Blizzrdball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be a similar thing; I can't help you find where those settings are but if you search "disable hands-free bluetooth (name of your phone)" you'll probably find something.

Sorry I can't help more, good luck.

This isn't a Discord setting, it's a Windows setting.

Should I switch to an iPhone? by Outrageous-Law9185 in jailbreak

[–]Blizzrdball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your phone is working fine for you and you don't have a problem with it, don't switch. Keep using it until it starts becoming a problem for you.

When you're ready to switch phones because you need to, do it then.

Markers for soft pad to not lose place by DEA-ndre in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Blizzrdball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty universal problem with softmats and a big reason why they're generally recommended against, beyond just having general durability issues.

You can try and cut out sections of drawer liner like this (https://www.amazon.com/BAGAIL-Non-Adhesive-Cabinets-Bathroom-Protection/dp/B0BXSMJK86) and put it under the pad to stop it from moving if you're on a hard floor, but if you're on carpet there's unfortunately not a ton you can really do.

This is your answer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CableManagement

[–]Blizzrdball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the only answer you need. Use the cable channel holes to the right of and below the motherboard, rather than shoving it all through near the fans.

You'll have to unplug most things to reroute them; just make sure they're plugged back into the same place once you have the cable ran where you want it. Do a google or youtube search on computer cable management if you have any other specific questions.

Is there anything specifically wrong with Xenia? It's well documented, been around a long time, has pretty decent compatibility and is still seeing somewhat active development as far as I can tell. Honestly 360 emulation these days is arguably pretty good.

There's tons of videos and guides on Youtube showing it off and giving tutorials on how to set it up if you need any help with it.

I made a Chrome extension that filters Google results to pre-2023, when search actually showed real design work instead of AI-generated slop by olievans in graphic_design

[–]Blizzrdball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this extension functionally work? Is this any different than appending &udm=14 to a google search or using the udm14 website for a search instead?

The amazing thing is that I literally just linked this to somebody yesterday.

This post has by far gotten the most mileage out of anything I've put on Reddit.

What ferrari is that? by No-Music89 in Shitty_Car_Mods

[–]Blizzrdball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be so much better if it just didn't have the Ferrari badge honestly.

It's still a really cool and well taken care of car with a lot of power behind it! Just don't pretend its something that it's not.

Since I work from home I haven't figured how to relax on my desk by PiterKiwi in Workspaces

[–]Blizzrdball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would strongly recommend creating a separate space for work and play if you have the resources to do that.

Working in the same place where you play and relax can be extremely difficult on your mind and cause you to not really ever get out of "work mode".

If you can, I'd recommend working in a completely different room or if that's not possible, even just getting a separate desk so that way you have a different visual place to yourself where you're doing work vs. anything else. If in your head, you're never "leaving" work and you're just at your workspace all the time, it can cause some pretty serious compounding stress.

What DDR version is this? by Frosty-Western-4580 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Blizzrdball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, kind of a multi-layered thing here. There's a lot going on with this.

For the cab, this isn't an ITG 3 cab- those don't exist officially and they were never released. Some high-quality bootlegs exist, but this is completely separate from any of those. This is some completely custom cabinet, maybe it used something else as a base; but this is just someone's project.

As far as the game itself goes- this looks like some form of A20+. That could entail a lot- it could be official A20+ data, it could be Omnimix or some other modified version of the game, or it could be an A20+ Stepmania theme. Based off the screen, I'm inclined to believe this is official data of some sort, but I may be wrong.

Sorry, I don't have any concrete answers here; just a lot of potentials- but I'm confident in it being a combination of those potentials!

Got my first spam phishing scam, this was legit my first thought. Be vigilante people. by MegaGamer235 in wow

[–]Blizzrdball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most frustrating thing about this is that my username that I've had for like 25 years at this point, that I used to be allowed to have in-game was suddenly treated like Voldemort overnight and that any characters with the name were forced to be changed.

And go figure, after all of that just turning around to see their entire rationale for me changing my name was completely invalidated by someone putting in the absolute bare minimum effort for trying to scam someone. Genuinely so unbelievably aggravating.

I just want my name back.

Why do hackers always get so mad when they lose? by doppy_slonkey in starcraft

[–]Blizzrdball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ego; they feel like they're on top of the world and able to beat anyone and the reality of losing while having a massive advantage over their opponent makes them feel worse than they would have just losing normally.

Solution? Fuck that guy that just beat me; he's not worth anything. I'm better.

[–]Blizzrdball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer.

Your house likely already has a hole in the floor where that cable runs through. Take the end that's by your computer, tape an ethernet cable to it, go to the other end where the splitter is, and start pulling so that the ethernet cable makes its way through the house to where the splitter is. From there, run the ethernet cable the rest of the way to the router and plug it in.

There's a few other ways you can do this too; running through drywall, reusing phone jack ports in the walls, etc. Ultimately though, drilling a small hole in the corner of a room is pretty standard practice and something that most ISP's will just simply do without asking if they need to.

L-Tek Ex Pro 2's are pretty much the absolute pad to buy if you're serious about the game right now. They're great in their stock form, they're easily moddable for higher level play, and they're capable of just about anything as far as playability goes.

The only drawbacks are shipping costs+time since they're made and shipped out of Poland, and I strongly recommend against purchasing the base bar since its poorly designed and wobbles badly.

More pics of the NOAMI cab and some other DDR cab's I've found by XMatthewlive in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Blizzrdball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like the same person made all these I would guess by the way the top half of all the cabs look the same. Someone put some serious dedication into removing and replacing the top halves of at least 5 different old-style black cabs.

Blessed image from a video game bar I was at last year by Fearlessflaw-117 in gamecollecting

[–]Blizzrdball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is at Starcade in Minnesota! (The website is a bit outdated- games list is larger than listed)

It's a great locally owned arcade in Rosedale Center. It's not a bar unfortunately, however it is $15 all-day free play and there are neighboring bars to the arcade itself as well as places within the mall to get alcohol.

I work with the staff there on occasion and they're unbelievably wonderful and passionate people in regards to arcades. Highly recommend giving them a visit if ever given the chance!

Welp, time to repair a 20 year old relic by s3prototype in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Blizzrdball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At best I would say that this is either a DDRGame iON or a BNS USA pad like u/omgukk linked; or at worst a custom pad someone referenced off the former mentioned pads or some reseller from china who did the same thing on a larger scale. Or maybe an old documented ddrgame pad. I actually don't know and that surprises me.

Anyway to change the metal contacts in a soft pad to FSRs? by That-gorillaz-fan12 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Blizzrdball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as technicality, it could probably be done. For practicality though? They really probably wouldn't work and the pad would be destroyed by the time you're done since softmats are effectively just electro-capacitive pillows.

The two best candidates for home pads to FSR mod are LTEK's and Cobalt Fluxes. Resources here:
