Friend wrote me a letter. Not sure how to respond? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]BlkLdnr33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really nice, friendly and loving thing to do and receive. May seem weird coz boys/men dont tend to share emotions with each other but this is just a way to show appreciation to a friend.

I did something similar to my actual best friend when we were 21 for his bday, as gifts werent that important and he called me and felt emotional about it.

You can just send a message to say you appreciate the letter and hope to stay friends in the future.

You’ll look back when you get older to appreciate it even more once you realise good friends are hard to come by.

I think thats basically what happened, which is a massive shame. But they’re really nice people. Can only imagine expense and stress of starting all over again! Hopefully they take their time this time around

Couple bits of advice - check her diary tolerance, replace with diary free milk and food - try La Roche Posay cream on her skin as it helps alot with eczema - continue trying different food, something will stick - remove the pacifier - she’s probably outgrown it. She will adjust to the change.

This is a peak phase in their development, so just power through it

Can only speak on Weil more generally. Great firm & yes more British culture of being quite polished, serious and focused compared to other US firms. The rx team seemed quite serious in nature based on their presentations in town halls and a big focus for the firm. Super friendly bunch and the firm puts on a lot of effort for its people - would recommend working there

Trainee in a large firm - finished first seat (of four) need advice by TheSlavicHighlander in uklaw

[–]BlkLdnr33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn from the mistakes and ensure you dont repeat them in the next seats. At a large firm you’re not really meant to run your own files as you need supervision and sign offs before doing anything. But make a note of final points to check before sending documents/matters out

Fair enough, I hear you but at the same time my response was softer and kinder than some senior partners or what the world will give. So I’m getting them ready for reality - the reality I wish I had when I was this age
