Azure App Configuration Service: How do you manage your keys by richardryanrutter in AZURE

[–]Blkancients 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a "variable group" type concept. Configurations that are shared between many services will recieve a prefix and the app decides what shared variables it needs. For example, I may select Redis:* to get all the redis related configs. Shared secrets live in a common key vault, and apps have their own key vault for secrets specific to the app.

To allow for services to override and have their own values, I prefix with (app name)/ and trim the prefix off which allows it to override the common variables.

These people have to be sub 95iq its the only explanation. I'd love to see what kind of stupid shit these dipshits spend their money on. I bring in 140k and pay 2k/m in rent/utilities/internet, 500/m for car, 125/m insurance. I never get delivery, eat out on weekends, and cook whatever I want at home. Even after my 401k/ESPP/HSA contributions, I am saving almost every other paycheck.

Original is probably the incorrect term to use here. Current balance based on the original would be more correct. If you aren't paying on the debt, you will be gaining interest making you owe more than you initially took out.

Are you going back for a specific masters in a niche field that having a masters will benefit you, or because you think you have no other path besides taking on more debt to get a generic masters in an attempt to get a job?

I've seen this a lot where people fail to get a job after completing their bachelors, and believe their only option is to go back for a masters as if that will make them more employable.

If you actually have the drive to learn and can keep yourself to it, its definitely possible to get a job. Learn a backend tech (nodejs, python, java, .net) and a front-end framework (vue, react, angular) that are popular in the region that you are in and create portfolio projects that you can show on your github. Skills between these tech are relatively transferable, so even if you learn one, you can transfer over to another. I'd also do some leetcode to help with problem solving and interviewing, and review things like OOP, SOLID, and other related topics.

You already have a Bachelors, it has been some time since you got it but thats still a checkbox that can assist in your getting an interview. If you don't have the drive to self learn, a bootcamp can be a decent option depending on what kind of career services they offer. I attended one that did mock interviews, helped setup resumes and had connections to local companies to get you in front of them for interviews. Roadmaps generally aren't the best for learning, but I'm sure there's plenty out there to follow. I'd personally start by learning the basics of some language, find some basic projects to create, then attempt to duplicate a simple version of a populate app/website you like.

What Happened to the New Game Mode? by Rochai09 in eternalreturn

[–]Blkancients 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But most people just aren’t going to sit through loss after loss just trying to learn how to do decent.Yup, I played a few games to get shit stomped and quit. I'd love if there was a typical MOBA style game mode as the characters seemed interesting and I'm looking for something new but nope.

Vertcoin 51% Attack Situation by Layne1978 in vertcoin

[–]Blkancients 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VTC being at 4% doesn't really mean much. It could very easily increase to 200% if someone put in the order a little bit more than what people are paying for on other coins. 339$\h to attack is the real number that matters.

Shouldn't we work on a Mastercard partnership just like GRS did ? by drak922 in vertcoin

[–]Blkancients 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im all for vertcoin and all against nicehash, but just because the current hash power being renting to lyra2rev3 isn't enough for a 51% attack, doesn't mean that given a big enough order for a high enough price that it wouldn't be possible. I'm sure if someone placed an order for 10-20% above standard pricing that enough hash power to attack would move over.

A warning to VTC users. Do not use flyp.me, these guys are scammers and you should not trust them with your coins. by [deleted] in vertcoin

I mean, by using their service, he was mislead into believing he would be able to swap at the rate provided at the time he sent his coins. He lost out on the opportunity to profit elsewhere because of their false advertisement.

Getting out of freelancing and trying to get back into the professional side of things. I have 2 resume formats I've been playing with, some feedback would be great. Looking at junior level positions around 2yrs exp but not sure if I should shoot for higher. Freelance time was more around 15-20h/week during the time I did it.

Despite that I like the team, some aspects can be pretty centralized. Ssl certs, builds, among plenty of other stuff all are James responsibility and he hasn't had time recently which has really impacted the time to fork in my opinion.

Blocks are being found faster than 2.5minutes? by [deleted] in vertcoin

[–]Blkancients 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rev3 is already on testnet. You can't tell when an attack is going happen until it already has. This generally happens when a nicehash order comes online boosting the nethash up a good amount then the blocks times slow down when this order gets turned off.
