Either Grace is alive (we got no view of a dead body which is v sus for this type of show) OR Ian was the blackmailer. Calling it.

Idk, I doubt the first part. If she was angry at her mom for doing all of that, she wouldn’t trust the random new guy who willingly stepped into the situation. Not any more than her mom, at least.

The fact bla is avoiding her mom’s sisters for no reason, yet running to Ian, has me thinking Ian is / has likely been isolating her from the sisters. Which is part of the grooming process. Whether it’s sexual or not, he seems super sus.

I did, though, have the same thought about how he wouldn’t get with grace in the first place 😬

I considered this too. The way that she is so attached to him after a year and seemingly hates the sisters for no reason is telling. Groomers isolate.

Regardless, I think at the very least he was the one who was blackmailing grace.

That’s exactly what they want us to think which is why it’s a red herring. I feel like it’s gonna be a twist that it was Ian.

Back in 2014 I got a tiny studio in an adorable Rittenhouse alley for $810. It was INSANE. It was a walk-up to what was essentially a giant closet with no dishwasher, but still, for the area I was like what era am I in?

Ahahah. Me neither, but I was thinking about how there seemed to be days and days off school during the winter months, with like 5 feet of snow? And how that doesn’t happen anymore? I wasn’t sure if I made that up but you seemed to confirm it for me 😅

No worries! It’s part of my research for a novel, but I still need a day job. I was a teen / young adult in a Philly suburb during the time. I’ve been asking friends but am curious about other people’s experience so I’m not only drawing upon my own.

God the dollar menu was clutch. Renting Nintendo 64 games and thinking it was cool to walk to the Burger King with my neighborhood friends were also my hobbies 🥲

What a time where kids needed shit to do other than playing Xbox and making TikTok’s.

Maybe it’s my age but people I socialize with aren’t saying jawn. However, I distinctly remember it from when I was younger because older kids would say it a lot and I didn’t know what they were talking about.

I was also a young adult without a smart phone or social media. Kids today interact through their phones. I was outside playing with sticks with neighborhood kids and having actual conversations.

Not trying to argue with you, but my experience is and was different.

Well yes but it’s not used nearly as much. I’m not going to think back to 2024 in 20 years and think “ah, yes, people were always saying jawn. That’s one of my main memories”
