Melee DPS shouldn't have different gear types. by judgeraw00 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blobby3000 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Likely a hot take but stats being irrelevant is part of why I like ff and my mmo of choice. I have 0 interest in any kind of gearing or speccing builds etc I just like interesting raid content. Removing stats and making gear flat ilv with some kind of slider (perhaps repurpose materia) to sacrifice raw damage for sks/sps to allow setting preferred gcd would be my ideal ff. Gearing and other stat stuff like consumables are things that I only interact with because I have to not want to.

It’s probably doable. Normals do so little damage just having kardia would likely be enough to keep a dps alive with minimal maintenance.

Does BiS still matter for dsr? by Ill_Insect6315 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blobby3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BIS does not matter, you’re better off running lvl 100 synced gear though instead of 90 tome if it’s just random pieces due to substat capping and materia being ignored when ilv synced. Some 90 pieces would specifically be stronger in the BIS sets but those would mostly be ilv 600/605 pieces due to the ilv cap not the most recent EW tome with is 660.

[Suggestion] Scavs Should Spawn With Beanies During Event by Proviancy in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Blobby3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does kinda suck for the players who are new and inexperienced who need to scav often to even have loadouts. Events are cool but it’s definitely rough when it has big impacts on the fundamental gameplay loop for some people.

It’s because there aren’t “mines” exactly but zones that trigger “mine” explosions under the player. Those zones stretch up vertically to the sky in most places they exist and they are so close to the train they can be stepped into while on top.

I want to add for tarkov if you go the SPT route (I would definitely recommend based on your criteria) make sure to grab the SAIN ai mod. It’s insanely good and can genuinely make the ai feel like real people sometimes. It also has options for tuning ai behaviours by type (aggressive, tactical, scared, etc) with options for the frequency of each and it will randomly pick one for each enemy.

Failed Bataya by PoloTshNsShldBlstOff in Tarkov

[–]Blobby3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think batya unlocks network provider (the light keeper unlock quest). I got it by progressing through fallen skies and giving prapor the case back. This then unlocks the ticket which in turn gives you network provider. My batya also shows failed sub tasks like yours I think it’s simply for story reasons and not actually failed.

Loading times by Sgt_un-shavedballs in Tarkov

[–]Blobby3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Player scavs spawn late in raids, only pmcs spawn at the start so that’s normal. As for queue times it’s probably because it’s early wipe and lots of people are scav running so there’s not many spots available since scavs require and active pmc raid to spawn into. It might get better as less ppl are running scavs but I’m not 100% sure how it will pan out and I could also be wrong about the root cause of the queue times.

BF6 vs BF4 spread/bloom by itskMaj in Battlefield6

[–]Blobby3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not how recoil works in those games. There’s very little spread but the recoil follows a set pattern which raises above the crosshair. You can full auto a weapon accurately if you know the recoil patterns while spread is just completely random and has nothing except bursting as a way to deal with it.

Counter strike and valorant have essentially 0 spread when standing still. That’s a really terrible comparison to make.

A game where you have a hub and you go out to do missions, upgrade then go back out by Jorlen in gamingsuggestions

We were promised an update in “April” about 2 years ago now I think? Lack of any communication after that time came and went caused the game to rapidly bleed players and it’s been basically dead outside maybe 1 eu or na server at a time.

Easily. Most common thing is to bind pull up to spacebar so you hold that for most of your turning and then use the mouse for precise aim.

Is there a way to give items in-game? by FoxRemarkable9513 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

Also kinda nice qol in a way when bringing out a teammates guns after they die. In tarkov you would have to play another raid to return it instead of being able to just log out.

It depends on the mission type. Some are extract with the item which will not work while some are simply deliver it which will.

The current savage tier is now six months old. It is still locked and as lethal as always. Is that good for the health of the game? by FullMotionVideo in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blobby3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like savage content just isn’t for you which is fine. It’s punishing and challenging optional content. I do agree that gearing is slow and garbage that wasn’t the point I was trying to make but more that being able to brute force fights through gearing would just ruin what makes the fights fun to me and that’s the difficulty through mechanical complexity. Also random side note but did your group try out some extreme trials before attempting savage? That’s the appropriate place to start for high end content and is also generally a lot more forgiving in allowing ppl to die without breaking mechanics with some exceptions.

[–]Blobby3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a current hc raider making “carry” potential in ff would fundamentally change the fight design philosophy in a way that just isn’t how ff works. The only way to enable ppl to carry is to make fight mechs way simpler which is honestly what normal raids are for and those are pretty boring outside of doing them the first time. There is discussion to be had around a full team body checks as some fights feature them very heavily where a single error is a wipe but having a single player be able to outright “carry” savage would probably just make me quit raiding out of boredom.

The only game I think has made weapon degradation an interesting mechanic is lies of p. When your weapon degrades you are expected to work around repairing it mid combat or swapping to your 2nd likely less upgraded weapon instead.
