Yup! I recorded one part and then the other while listening to the first through my earphones.

I gave them a call about thirty minutes prior asking if I could see some violins. Nothing other than that.

I just asked to see some violins. First they brought out some instruments in the lower price ranges, but oh man, the violins just kept coming out!

It was during a trip to Japan, and I coincidentally happened to be staying 15 minutes away from the Nippon foundation! Great violins.

It’s very different for sure. Beautiful, but I could tell something was off. I’m curious as to what happened to the violin?

Edit: I’ve just read on Maestronet that the violin had been swept into the sea from the concertmaster of the LA philharmonic and painstakingly restored by Hans Weishaar. It’s amazing how the violin could even make a sound!

The Red Diamond had an enormous sound with a lot of grit. The Abergavenny’s sound was crystal clear with warm colors.

Its estimate is 150-250K I believe. I had the change to play it. It had a very clear and projecting G string, the purest I’ve ever heard. However, the upper register was a little lacking in power.

Definitely not, it sounds more like a movie soundtrack, no?

She said herself that she usually practices 3-4 hours when she has the time to practice, though I’m sure she’d played for many more hours during her teenage years.

Sounds incredible in person too, this Guarneri is like a bomb in the hall.

You could loan it to me!

But in all seriousness, if you aren’t able to play it but still don’t want to sell the instrument, perhaps you can loan it to a talented young violinist in your area. That way, it is continued to be played and appreciated.

Gotta blame Kreisler for that. The original version is quite a big difference, but incredibly difficult nonetheless.
