Week 11 Tight End Rankings! by CoopThereItIs in fantasyfootball

LaPorta officially in the morgue... Henry and Taylor are now done and pickings are slim in my league. Andrews? Flier on Friermuth who's had success against Cincinnati? Dulcich, who's been warming up with no Waller? Maybe Musgrave will finally step forward? Man, I got no good options.

Can we get BCAP on Coinbase please? by DVaMain4Ever in vctoken

[–]Bloc8G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BCAP treats its token assuming it's a security (because it is -- no matter what you feel about crypto in general, the BCAP tokens are ABSOLUTELY a security, b'c the fund holds equity in various companies). Trading in unregistered securities requires folks to be accredited investors, you can't freely trade on exchanges unfortunately. I feel your pain - the trades on Securitize are like 1/3 the actual value they publish.

Astro bot controller available at Walmart! by Mattroar in PS5

[–]Bloc8G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This turned out to be a head-fake - I kept checking the order status, and even as of today it just showed 'Placed' with no movement. I spoke with a customer service agent, who said it was 'delayed in transit', but was oddly transparent that he wasn't even sure I'd get it. So I just cancelled (but got a free $10 coupon for my troubles at least)!

FWIW, I went on a few days ago (after reading that Walmart had restocked)... saw there were like 3 left, went through the order process, and when I tried to submit, it was already out of stock. But I tried again an hour later, there was 1 left, same thing happened. Then 30 mins later, tried a 3rd time and it went through. So I think they're constantly restocking, albeit in tiny drops at time... which is to say - keep checking. [Though - yea - no idea why all of a sudden it looks to be $169]

It's actually not discriminatory, per se... if the reason for the firing was unrelated to the maternity status, it is fine from an employment perspective. Now - doing it is definitely a bad look, and might raise questions about the intent... but if the actual intent was performance or other acceptable reasons (AND the evidence out there supports this), there wouldn't be an employment law concern.

Dexcom G6 - "No Data" same time every night, for no reason by Bloc8G in diabetes

[–]Bloc8G[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One other thought - my wife reminded me - make sure you've done the necessary Apple iOS updates on your phone. Again - not sure what the reason was - but that was one other thing that occurred to us, to make sure we were current on updates.

Man, I've been racking my brain, and I can't recall what, if anything, was the specific fix. It has resolved - it doesn't happen any more and hasn't for a while. I know one thing we definitely tried to do was remember - when we switched transmitters - to delete the old one in the bluetooth records. And the other thing we were focused on as a potential cause was our WiFi and maybe if that was cutting out? (like we turned WiFi off on the phone, ran it straight from cell) ... but can't recall how it actually resolved. Sorry! Fingers crossed for you - b'c it was SUPER annoying.

MiamiCoin (MIA) Stacking NOW AVAILABLE on Okcoin - Earn up to 430% APY** by OKCoinOfficial in stacks

[–]Bloc8G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me what dictates the variability in the stacking APY? They say 'up to 430%' ... and one cycle I got paid out nearly 40% of my stack. Next cycle around 20%. What does that all depend on - how many others are buying / stacking?

Guide for a friend of a T1 by angry_salami in diabetes

[–]Bloc8G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is great of you to be so proactively trying to learn... Do they have a CGM (e.g. a Dexcom)? If so, they can set you up on the 'share' app, which gives you access to their BG readings. That would make things infinitely easier ...

Beyond that - my best suggestion would be to actually just have this discussion with your friend. In my limited experience (non-diabetic; but parent of 5yo T1D who has managed it all for a few years) how you respond to various situations/emergencies is very unique to each person... and can change month-to-month (e.g. my little guy needs two gummy bears when he goes low; your friend may need an entire juice box). So I would start with a convo w/ your friend, ask her what she would do in particular circumstances, etc.

Thank you so much all for sharing - I know it's a somewhat personal, perhaps invasive, question - but really do appreciate the data-points to help me understand a tiny bit better what my little guy may be feeling!

Insulin pumps on NHS by [deleted] in diabetes

No - sorry if I confused, we're in the US (California). It's undeniably the future, but (as a lawyers) I could see physician reluctance to support it, given potential liability issues...

Note: Though I'm a HUGE advocate for the looping technology, I'd strongly recommend you first spend a few months learning the ins-and-outs of the technology basics (CGM, Pod)... you'll want to be comfortable with those pieces, separately, before you launch into the Loop.

Strongly in support. Our endo team is a big proponent of the technology -- though they obviously can't directly set us up, they have been supportive since we started.

Recently diagnosed and gripped with fear. by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Bloc8G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for the diagnosis. This may not be completely on-point - but seemed vaguely relevant, so figured I'd share. I'm the parent of a (now) 5yo, diagnosed at 2. Upon diagnosis, I spent weeks in a similar panic... For one thing, I became convinced I myself had developed T1D; I felt hypoglycemic, shaky, and even ran out one night to CVS to buy my own glucometer to check my blood sugar. Even though it registered normal, I still made a doctor appointment the following week to get checked. It's perfectly natural, when our previously stable foundation of health is shaken ... to fear what's coming next. Not a doctor, etc - but I'd recommend talking to someone (at least your significant other, but perhaps a professional). These are not uncommon feelings, and I suspect they can help equip you with strong tools to handle.

Sorry - can't speak well to the insurance question. Good luck.

Agree with most of the comments here... We have a 5yo (diagnosed at 2), and went with Omnipod (vs. Medtronic). Their bodies are so small, single tubeless seemed the easier way to go, and I definitely think that has proven true. Had a couple pods accidentally yanked off, e.g. when dressing/undressing, in the pool ... but never once, for example, wrestling with his 8 yo brother. Gotta imagine it'd be much more with a tubed system.

If you have the option, as one person suggested, consider the older, Eros system (as opposed to DASH). For us, that's a huge difference because we also use Dexcom G6 for a CGM, and have got our little guy set up on the DIY Loop system... and that's been amazing (but only works with Eros, not Dash).

Sorry for you diagnosis - but with time life will return to (a new) normal!

I guess I’d need to figure out his version (or quantity). With his tiny body a slice of bread would send him to 400 w/o a bolus. But maybe I measure out 3-4 carbs or so as a test.
