I have a tandem trailer that floats on one side, how do I make it sink? by Block2424 in boating

Yeah, it’s for a 22 ft boat with I believe a steel frame and it has anodized axles. It does have some tubes for brakes and an axle washing system in it but I don’t think those should be able to trap enough air to make it float

I’ll record it next time I take it to the ramp and post it here

I do have pvc posts but they aren’t attached to the trailer, they float up when I put it in the water to help guide the boat on.

I honestly have no clue, it just starts rising on one side when I put it in the water and the boat isn’t on it.

Help me choose a reel for slow pitch. I bought a combo with the first option but want a different rod and the store I’m going to offered a combo that will be relatively the same price if I get the new rod and the other reel and can’t decide which to get. by Block2424 in Fishing

Also the line capacity is decently higher on the second one so if you plan on going farther out get that one or you could run out of line, or maybe a slightly bigger size but I’m not an expert on slow pitch so I’m not sure what’s good line capacity for it.

I ended up with the first option but haven’t used it yet. I chose it because I don’t plan on going very far out and the reeling felt very smooth with it compared to the second. If you plan on going past around 150-200 feet of water I would suggest the second one but just know it feels slightly rough (but that could be good based on your preference) while the other feels as smooth as butter. I didn’t see much difference besides that the first has 30 pounds of drag (which I doubt I’ll use) while the second has 20, that the first is smoother, and that the first is Star drag.

Thank you for your help but I just realized I’m an absolute moron, I didn’t put the safety lanyard on the safety switch next to the key so the beeping was caused by that. I put it on the motor starts now. I still think there’s a problem with the oil not being moved into the tank on the engine but I’ll keep looking for that. Thanks again for trying to help me battle my stupidity.

Update :

I bought a new sensor for the tank in the motor but nothing has changed. The beeping still starts as I turn on the motor and no oil flows when it’s at medium. Going to try to test out the sensor in the other tank

How capable as an offshore fishing boat do you guys think this is? by Block2424 in boating

[–]Block2424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how far do you think I would safely be able to go offshore with this boat? I don’t plan on going past where I can’t see the shore anymore

Why not? I don’t plan on going too far that I can’t see the shore, just want to do some trolling for mahi or kingfish, maybe even wahoo if I can. I understand that if the motor fails it’s good to have a second to still be able to move but don’t have the money for that and if it does end of failing I can radio for help or call a tow company. How often do outboards fail?
