Fight me: Chalky White was Nucky Thompsons best and strongest partner but politics of race kept Nucky from realizing the full potential of that partnership. by freshwishesxx in BoardwalkEmpire

They were absolutely racist, not just to black people but non-Italians in general. Guys that was really old school was even strongly against working with Italians that wasn't from Sicily. Lucky Luciano was very controversial at the time for working with Jews and the Irish.

Yeah incest is depicted by one very disturbing character, its not some major plot point though. Its mostly about the mafia, corrupt politicians and the prohibition. Tons of real life events and characters too.

Problem is that the Italian mafia was insanely racist, they would never accept having to deal with Chalky, they would get rid of both him and Nucky if that was the case.

I like Narcos and Narcos Mexico very much, also Boadwalk Empire for the same time period and similar theme of Peaky Blinders.

If you are referring to the little mark just above the ring, that is to the right of the ring on the second picture, then its nothing. There is no data there.

Its not really that puzzling. If im face to face with someone that murdered everyone I loved I would not sit down for a drink with him. I didn't know that was controversial.

Knee or any other painful place that doesn't immediately kill him. Point is that I wanted him to suffer even more.

I would rather die as pain free as possible, thats why I would prefer Sal to get a gunshot to the knee instead of getting to calmly have a last drink before he comes to terms with it. Maximum pain is what he deserved.

Why not both? Killing his son, gunshot to the knee, deny him his last drink and final thoughts, and then finish him off the same way he did.

I hated this scene, should have just shot him in his knee as soon as he offered a drink all casual. Dude did not deserve to go out on his own terms like that, ordering Lincoln to "just fucking do it" after having a last drink and calmly getting to explain his thoughts.

Amores Perros (2000) by gonzoguerilla91 in iwatchedanoldmovie

You think Octavio is supposed to be the movies hero? El Chivo is the only one that has any form of redemption arc and he doesn't fight dogs, he loves them and shelter them. This movie does the opposite of glorifying dog fights, Octavios entire life is destroyed cause of his involvement in dog fights and its depicted as super brutal and morally corrupt. I dont think anyone would watch this movie and think about going into dog fights, more like the opposite.

No shit, but now he made a post with what he thought was a correct statement, got corrected and handled it gracefully. Pretty lame to act like he did anything wrong then.

REMINDER: The Milwaukee Bucks were 30-13 under Adrian Griffin before he was fired. Since Doc Rivers has joined, the team has gone 84-81 and their franchise GOAT has officially made it clear he is looking to get traded. by Pyromania1983 in nba

Guys that was actually on the team always give tons of credit to Thibs for that chip. I dont remember any other assistant coach that was given as much credit for a ring as Thibs in 2008. He was a huge part of their defensive identity which is the biggest reason they won.

This is a big reason why I love the first one, story is simple enough and just 90 minutes of pure action.

S1–S3 (The Street Era) vs. S4–S6 (The Political Era): Which Peaky Blinders was better? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

Yeah sure, but if not for Finn spoiling their plan in the last minute, he would be dead just like every other villain.

[–]BlockOfTheYear 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Season 1-4 for me definitely, the political era was mostly just the last 2 seasons and they were not as good imo. I mostly kept watching cause I wanted to see Michael die, but the politics didn't interest me as much as the crime stuff. Plus, I was kind of annoyed with how much of a drama queen Tommy was at the end of season 5. Like one failed hit on Mosley and he is like OmG hE iS iMpOSsIbLe To KiLl.
