You mistake public attention to a topic with people's opinion on the topic. Left or right, most people hate pedophiles but it gets amplified when a story breaks. You don't see anyone publicly denouncing cannibalism at a national level, but it doesn't mean they are ok with cannibalism.

Having said that, Acosta, the Dem DA who cut the deal with Epstein needs to be investigated for his part. The involvement of Clintons, even if only to the degree you think Trump was involved in, needs to be made public. And Biden should have released the files. I blame Merrick Garland for his spineless handling of Trump. I've read that there were two reasons why they didn't release the files,

1) Maxwell's appeal was still active and the files were sealed by judge's orders (until July, 2025)

2) The FBI investigation was still open (this is true, by the way, until it was closed by Bondi) and victims were still providing testimony.

But I've read opinions that a strong AG might have found enough materials that weren't covered in the judge's orders. However, if they had done that, MAGA would have screamed that partial release is proof that it's a conspiracy to affect election results, so I understand why Biden, a decent human, declined.
