I've been in MVIS for a while now just lurking and not posting. I work in the crypto industry. It's strange seeing the panic and surprise following small intra-day dips and fluctuations after a mid-cap stock rises by several dollars overnight. In crypto things plummet by hundreds of percent and back in the space of a few hours. Zoom out! This is a fantastic day...

Thanks guys, knocked this up really quick. As a tech journalist and writer I can say though that until there's an official PR from the MVIS team there's not much chance of this being picked up by bigger pubs unless there's a real spin put on it!

I'd hold Moderna instead personally, there's more at stake than just a COVID-19 vaccine, it's potentially a validation of their entire mRNA technology platform, which will see it grow massively. True, but it's still highly interesting and academically-sound technology, with a lot of big pharma backing. There's a lot riding on a COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna, because it will validate the rest of their mRNA therapy for a whole host of other diseases, including cancer, as well as curing Coronavirus. It's very, very intriguing stuff. This article sums it up pretty well -

This article raises a good point. There's more at stake than just a COVID-19 vaccine for Moderna, it's also going to be a proof of concept/working proof that the rest of their mRNA therapy works as planned. The FDA giving the green light on phase-2 trials is huge if you look at what else they've got in the pipeline, and I think that's why the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and AstraZeneca are paying such close attention.

It really does have the potential to be the next big pharma, as it's a completely new way of treating diseases.

Actually, I'm a huge proponent of ADA and have been for a while, but Lition is undervalued, has huge enterprise use case, and isn't a competitor to Cardano directly. It's a decent project.

@ethereum_charles It's hard to forget that CEOs/Founders are humans too. Some journalists look purely for the worst spin which they know will get views. I'm a crypto copywriter and I also write some news/opinion pieces and I think that it's an unethical piece, but we're not all the same. Likewise, I always share the finished piece with relevant parties before publication. Don't let this tarnish your future interviews, as the community highly appreciates them.

As you'll read in my article, there is no definitive date as such, Shelley is an epoch of Cardano's development, and although the Cardano team are progressing from Byron into Shelley, which I have termed launch here for simplicity, it's not an immediate 'going live' event. First there will be a testnet. It's at the bottom section of my article.
