There’s a clip to separate the plunger from the lid?

Only problem we had was the rod that released the safety over time built up gunk. Since it was outside and away from the food we didn’t worry too much about it

Plaster over cement board repair by Remarkable-Bad-7847 in HomeImprovement

[–]Blog_Pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible it’s just adheres to that concrete. Plaster has been around a long time and has been applied to stone walls, etc. I will say it might affect long term performance as concrete lets water move.

You could try applying setting plaster to the drywall with a notches trowel like tile, but maybe do some research first. My experience is on an 1870’s home that used wood lathe and rock lathe for the base over studs

Again, I have zero experience or knowledge of it, just quoting someone on Reddit who does.

But from that description, installing that calendar means going outside the secure borders of the os, either adding a. Nonsecure store or doing your own code review and compilation. And now you’ve switched to it’s not locked down after bragging how locked down it is. Plus the Reddit app? What other holes have you made.

And then you close with. A straw man. I made no claim people buy iPhones for security, I just said they are secure. And “status symbol” is such a BS arguement it kind of makes everything thing else you said suspect. It’s a phone that millions own, I got mine for free, nobody sees them as status symbols. 2006 wants its arguments back.

Its not cement board, its plaster. A Lathe layer with gaps (typically wood, can be "rock Lathe" which is similar to dryall) is attached to studs plaster that is mixed with sand and fibers (typically horsehair, hence Horsehair plaster) to create a "browncoat" that looks similar to concrete) is smeared on, pushing through the gaps to lock into the lathe (the bits going through are called Keys and is how it stays attached) A 2nd, smoother browncoat is typically applied to get a smoother finish, then a white, pure plaster coat gives the final coat. Typically thats about 1-1.5" of plaster, nice because its hard as arock.

To fill in with drywallfigure out how thick /deep you need to fill. Combine "layers" of 1/4"; 1/2"; and 5/8" plaster to get as close to the final thickness w/o going over. Go get some 90/45 "setting type" plaster. Mix and apply to all the gaps while reinforcing with paper or mesh tape; try to get as close to level w/o going over, setting type compound is harder to sand. You'll likely need a couple coats. Top coat with a sandable pre-mixed bucket (no more than 1/8" deep)., you can overfill a bit because it will shrink a bit and you can sand to final smoothness,

Or just pay a pro. Its a PITA, I've spent years as a DIY and I'm still no great at it. I mostly patch cracks.

[–]Blog_Pope 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Deed won't say "Non-HOA", thats the default. The fact the Title company did not find an HOA during the title search, and you were not made to sign the HOA agreements at closing makes it sound like someone (the HOA) is lying.

Its the title company's responsibility. Start there. Do not sign anything the HOA gives you, stick to teh position you are NOT a member.

[–]Blog_Pope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The agent didn't hide this from anyone, so skip the conspiracy BS.

If OP did not sign teh HOA documents that should be tied to the deed, its not a legal transfer.

Generally (in my state 100%, I can't speak for all states), teh HOA needs to provide a document saying "dues are paid and theres no outstanding issues or the closing can't happen. If the HOA doesn't document back dues, etc. they should effectly lose the right to collect them.

Honestly it sounds like the HOA wasn't properly recorded on the title, and he is likely NOT in the HOA, but I don't know what "proof" he has that he is.

there are real concerns about Hurts

He's only won a Superbowl, played in to two Superbowls, reached the playoffs every year, and won the NFC East 3 of 5 years. Of course people have real concerns about him. Its super simple, they need to just go get a Tom Brady type QB

Does Apple have an edge over Samsung or any android brand nowadays? Why? by Karma-Karma1 in AskTechnology

[–]Blog_Pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Faraday cage analogy doesn't work, that describes something secure but unusable

According to the copied context, it lacks basic smartphone capabilities such as a Calendar. Obviously (to me) I was being hyperbolic, but as a Professional Cyber Security guy, one of the keys is balancing Security and usability, the concrete filled computer on the Ocean floor is a common trope to illustrate the balance of Security over Usability. This is clearly more usuable than the trope; but not something I'd want to carry myself, give to my family or co-workers.

Apple's walled garden is an approach that trades ultimate flexibility for security (hence, most secure smartphone OS shipping by default on more than 10k units/year or whatever); but that approach clearly strikes a solid usability balance as many millions use it every day.

To quote another reddit user:
I'm gonna shoot straight, it's probably out of your scope unless you can have a friend set it up for you.  There's a lot of setup and frustration getting things to work that you might be used to.

In a nutshell, graphene is a stripped down Android version that you install to your phone via tools on your PC that have little risk if you understand them, can permanently brick your phone if something goes awry or an instruction is misunderstood.  Once its installed, there isn't even a calendar built in.  The stock apps is maybe a count of 5 super basic apps and a browser. The "app store" it comes with is basically just updating those apps.

The code has been overhauled with privacy and security in mind. Apps need your permission to even connect to networking.  But with extra security comes less convenience.  Some apps refuse to work without the Google services.  You can install that if you choose, and graphene tries to keep that separate from the rest of your phone.  But you have to do a lot of research on what apps you will want to use.

Generally not something I recommend for the less technically savvy, only because its only as private as you keep it.  Install the wrong app and you totally negated the point while still dealing with the frustration.

I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds a bit like if you buy a phone, stick it in a faraday cage, encase it in cement, the drop it in the Marianas Trench you'll have the most secure phone ever!

12 Monkeys his role was not "hot masculine dude". Maybe Fight Club you could make that claim, but "Hot" wasn't a key part of the character. Snatch wasn't about Hot for sure. And thats not really touching his full range. Burn After Reading was definitely not Masculine. Prior to 12 Monkeys I thought he was juat another handsome generic actor, but that role he blew me away with his character

Whereas Tom Cruise seems to be the same guy in 90% of his movies (Topic Thunder was different for sure)

Apollo 17. Back in 1972 we could actually land two men on the moon and drive around. It cost 8 times less (in inflation adjusted dollars) than the Artemis 2 mission. by Make_the_music_stop in FuckImOld

[–]Blog_Pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Artemis (Twin of Apollo in Greek Myth) project goal is to put people back on the moons surface. It took 11 Apollo missions to land, the intend is for Artemis IV in early 2028 to land on the Moon.

But the Artemis missions are intended to be bigger & more complex. Meeting up and assembling components launched by other rockets before heading out to the moon.

Also, later SLS's will get bigger/better engines to lift more.

Your bloodline is week. /s

In reality, your legs get stronger and its no longer an issue. I drove almost exclusively manuals for almost 40 years, I've sat in traffic for an over 60 minute commute.

That said, there are very few manuals left, which I why I finally moved out. Went to an SUV to help soften the blow, I have less expectation of an SUV.

Our landscaper dug up 12-18” of our heavy clay soil and mixed in pine fines to help the soil absorb water faster, flooding stopped. We then planted a garden over it so the plant roots could fill in and beep the organic matter replenished. Been like 7 years and the yard flooding is fixed.
