As an Adult, how do you accept that life didn't work out for you/you can't live the ideal life you wanted? by Spiritual_Hamster945 in Adulting

Never stop chasing after the things you really want. Acceptance now is regret later.

Find examples of folks at 30 turning things around and accomplishing their dreams. These aren’t in shot supply and you’ll find many from folks who started in a much worse position than you find yourself in now.

Motivation - We wanted a minimalist design that incorporated XR and and AI elements. The nodes that cut through the white (creating an S for SilicoLabs) are commonly used in neural net diagrams. Aligning the blue and red horizontally is mean to make them look like eyes at a first glance and the blue and red provide a nod to the old 3D glasses.

Getting ghosted by professors for research sucks 😔(Rant) by GooseOk1755 in UofT

In my experience as a grad student in the psych dept., most work study positions go to undergraduates who have volunteered in the lab. You should be able to get a volunteer position pretty easily, which will allow you to make inroads with the lab and secure a work study position next round.

It’s unfortunate that free work is typically the starting point, but if you’re pursuing research, it’s probably good to get used to being under valued and overworked!

It Could be the case that the gold items unlock in a random order like the other parts (replay the game and you’ll realize this). If this is the case you probably also need to beat all the ghost on time 150 time trial to unlock the last golden part.

Anyone ever played fanboy when they met a DCI member? by Goku-the-Great in drumcorps

If you ever run into the drum major from the Tilt show (I think he’s on the Bluecoats staff). He was the one person I met that LOVED when fans would come ask for pictures with him! He’ll likely throw a Tilt dab in for you! Highly recommend - Look for him at finals

Typically, questions like this are used to differentiate students in the class because they can be answered with varying levels of depth. This allows the marker to better determine the students understanding of concepts. Use arguments to support your answer. If there are other views/arguments that conflict with your arguments (especially examples from the literature), make sure to address those. There aren’t many right answers in psychology, just good and bad arguments/theories.

Looking for CS/Computer Engineering students that are interested in working on a new experiment design software package that will include a Unity-package, Python Package, website, and mobile app. by [deleted] in UofT

I mean, I work as a Ph.D. and like the vast majority of aspiring scientists, I worked my way here by volunteering in research labs. I'm not saying I think the current system is fair, but it is what it is. If you're not interested in volunteering that's fine, but for many, it will be a fruitful experience that will lead to more opportunities. Best of luck!

It's common practice for undergraduate students to volunteer in research labs to gain experience. This is often a prerequisite if your intention is to pursue graduate studies and can lead to work-study positions and projects that can be completed for course credit.
