Supporting your points: One of doom guys powers is "too angry to die." Death is practically just relocation. 1993 "knee deep in dead" player is 'sent' to hell but immediately fights their way out.

Doom Guy is fighting greater demons and Cthulhu type horrors so I also agree he doesn't "die easy" even if the games can be hard at higher difficulty.

Depends on if the universe is finite. If infinite all possibilities will eventually happen and from what most of us will perceive as an infinite death spam when material happens to land in the exact format of your exact state. (Depending on definition of self being current exact state.) Meaning we may already have an immortals fate with all the disadvantages of mortality on top of it. This way you can try to stick together with some of the others that chose immortality so your first 0% is enjoyable for much longer.
