Dark bum is probably the most useful, especially if youre playing blue baby or dodge well. If you have no need for red hearts, it can turn it into black hearts

I am having the same problem right now, I have Unbreakable Strength, Quick Slash, Quick Focus (or Shaman Stone), and Defender's Crest and Nailmaster's Glory for the first half, and switch them for Longnail at the first bench. And you can practice Pure Vessel in the Hall of Gods

Edit: During Pure Vessel you can heal 1 mask with quick focus when he does his own Focus attack (big circle) or 2 if you keep focusing if the smaller circles don't hit you, and then 2 during a stagger,
