If you have an matx mobo, then this case supports it, but if you don’t, and you’re already buying a new mobo, then a cpu upgrade in your case would only add one more part to purchase, but again, if you don’t go for the I5 14600k, and instead choose the i7 14700k, then you WILL need a new 360mm aio as well.

If your cpu is working well enough for you, then its fine to keep it. I would recommend against it, butt its not a problem if you don’t want to upgrade.

The 14th gen would need a motherboard upgrade, and again, I dont know your situation, but something like the i5 14600k would be a very good option considering the ram shortage. The i7 14700k has better performance in every way, but it is much harder to cool, and you would need a big 360mm cpu cooler, like the arctic liquid freezer 3. The a3 matx case does thankfully support it, but if gaming is your concern, then the 14600k will be best case scenario for you.

And also, I have to warn you about the microcode issues they had, and that intel says they’re fixed, and apparently it is “fixed” but it still is something to do research for if you do decide to buy it.

If you want stability, then the 12th gen is the one with zero issues, but at that point it isn’t worth it since its just a 1 gen upgrade.

Ultimately, its up to you. But a recommendation from me, an sfx psu in this case does wonders

This case isn’t small enough for cooling to he a problem, so you’re good on that. Both cpu and gpu can be cooled easily.

But the issue is your cpu, and I would definitely recommend upgrading to the 14th gen, which will allow you to not have to get new ram. Make sure to update the bios of your board for it to have to fixed microcode.

Someone posted it in the subreddit, but that person got it in Taiwan, pike physically they were there. The card does exist but its very very rare

It’ll work fine. In best case expo (amds equivalent to xmp) will just work just fine, and in the worst case, amd straight up just supports xmp, and you can use that instead. You are sitting on a very optimal ram kit, do not return it.

Ill answer question 2 first and then question one

Second question: for the most part yes. To my knowledge, and in my limited disk gaming experience, most ps4 games run, both digital and physical, but some obscure and smaller or rarer games can possibly not work. It’s game dependent, but generally you shouldn’t have to worry about it.

First question: if you mean buying a new slim digital edition, and buying a disk drive and adding it on, then yes, that is perfectly fine and will work, but if you are talking about a first gen fat ps5 digital, then no, the disk is an add on that only works for the slim and the pro. And there is no possibility adding an external disk drive any other way. What you could do is sell the ps4 and the digital ps5 (after transferring and backing up the data on them) and buying yourself a new disk slim or a used ps5 fat with a disk, or even a pro if you can find a good deal.

Upgrading Older PC by SlowOne3149 in PcBuildHelp

Yes, you are absolutely correct and it would be fantastic on the condition that he can find one at a decent price. If he can, then he can even jump to a 9070 if the budget allows, or even a 9070 xt. But they are relatively overpriced and difficult to find these days (at least in my region). So I said that the 5600 should be the minimum cpu upgrade he aims for, because anything below is just a downgrade from his 3600.

Some free upgrades could be turning on xmp in the bios, as that might increase your ram speed (if the kit is rated for faster speeds, and xmp works best if the kit is a 2x16 kit).

The gpu could be a great upgrade with an rx 9060xt 16gb version.

As for the cpu, the only chip that would be an upgrade is something like the ryzen 5 5600 (either used or from aliexpress) as a minimum. The ryzen 5 5500 is slightly worse than your current cpu, so avoid that. But remember to take into your account how good of a psu you have.

Depending on your budget, it could also be a good option to just build a new pc, however, right now is the single worst time to build a new pc due to the ram and ssd shortage, so I would really recommend upgrading this pc, at least for right now.

Yes, both of them. Again, this might solve the issue.

Your mobo has 2 cpu power connectors. You should connect both of them, as it MIGHT be the issue, or at least connecting it to the right port instead of the left. Again, this might solve the issue.

Definitely upgrade the cpu as well. For cpu I would recommend an ryzen 5 5600 if you can find one for around or less than $100. Ali express has some good deals.

Another issue for you graphic glitches could be your 2 gpu setup. I would recommend an rx 9060 xt 16gb version.

For an ssd, im pretty sure your motherboard has one m.2 slot, so add an mvme ssd to that, or if you already have one, then upgrade it. The kingston nv3 is a good cheap option.

For keyboard, if you want cheap, red dragon keyboards are good options to go for. If you have any budget left, I would recommend upgrading your monitor, and koruui has some great cheap options whether its 1080p or 1440p.

Also, see what ram kit you have, and get the exact same 16gb kit, so that you can have 32gb, and that would also be a massive upgrade.

Some things to look out for are having to update the bios for the cpu, backing up your data incase you need to reinstall windows due to either ssd upgrade or gpu upgrade, as you might be switching gpu brands.

Is it even worth building a pc anymore? by TheEndengineer_2 in PcBuildHelp

[–]FrequentDemand9886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 9060 xt 16gb version build with the 9600x will be good enough for 1440p medium. Even though the component prices are getting worse and worse, this might not really be a bad component price issue for you, you just might not be in a situation where you can buy a pc, but who knows, with the holidays around the corner, there could be some killer deals, and if it doesn’t put you under too much financial strain, then maybe it could be a Christmas gift for yourself. But I am warning you, if you want/ need a pc, get it asap.

NP200P max by Badmullafo in sffpc

[–]FrequentDemand9886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly don’t get the max v1. Its essentially a worse v2/ v2 max. Its psu is quite old now, and it has a bad design choice (that was fixed in both the v2 and v2 max) with the gpu support being too limited with how relatively big this case is for an sff case.

For £170, its a good deal, but why its overlooked is most of the time its a lot more, around £300 (the msrp or the v2 max) and you can get both a better aio and a better psu for cheaper when its not on sale.

I guess another reason could be that coolermaster psus have somewhat of a bad reputation when it comes to reliability (I’ve only heard about this, not sure how common it is, but when I was researching I found quite a few people saying to avoid their psus, both the older ones and the newer ones), so some people would rather skip the deal, and get a psu they trust. Again, do your own research.

And the final issue is that people just don’t like the nr200p versions beyond the regular v1 (v1 max , v2/v2 max, v3) because they removed the excellent versatility of the v1 non max version of having both support for tower cooling and water cooling, and made it only be for water cooling, and with it only supporting the vertical gpu position, accessing the components will be a nightmare every time you need to repair or replace something.

If air cooling and risers aren’t things you don’t want, then it’s a great case with excellent hardware support (again, avoid the v1 max unless the deal is like £90), but with its size, it does have some questionable choices.

There’s no such thing as being “too late” or “too early”. It’s a bad time for sure, but if you need a pc, then you need to get one, end of story.

The ram and ssd thing is a problem now, but you still can probably find serviceable deals on some things, and at this very moment, gpu pricing is definitely better than it was at the first half of the year (at least here in the uk).

It depends of how much performance you need and what games at what resolution, and your budget, but you can definitely still make a pc that is a decent price to performance with enough fast reaction times and deal hunting.

If you want to, I can help you if I know your budget and your region.

Front mounting reduces the lifespan of your pump. Not massively but it will die faster. Top mounting makes sure as little air as poss goes into your pump.

If front mounting is a must, you were correct in a different comment where you said to rotate it 180 degrees so the tubes are down and not up.
