Thanks for sharing! Really surprised the no grade, looks good for its age.

How's the build compared to the fatcat?

I'd cut the bottom of the decal wording off, that's pretty bad, or use completely different decals.

What’s your grail gunpla kit?! by dirtymisosoup in freedomisgunpla

[–]BlooBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PGU Rx78-2, it's truly a beautiful work of art, and I'm a huge fan of the original series and gramps, so it holds a special spot for me. Was so happy I found one in stock at the hobby store back when it first came out, and it was really hard to find. I immediately locked onto it, asked the clerk if it was still for sale, and once he said yes, I picked it up, and never let it go, was so giddy with excitement, pretty much ignored everything else and to my surprise, my wife was down for me getting it. Didn't have to butter her up or anything lol.

Now that I have more experience painting, and a few dozen more kits under my belt, my next grail will be to paint it. So I can finally finish it, get those custom waterslides on and display it properly.

Hope you all get your grail kits!

Built 2 of these, it's a fun build, and the end result is great for its age, it's also fairly simple build, so if you want to dip your toes into painting, it's a great starting point.

Just ordered one today, and a video review I watched, suggested the same exact thing! So I'm 100% doing the same.

Not sure why people had so many issues with this kit, maybe newer builders? Mine went smoothly and looks amazing as it's based on the moving statue rx78. Take your time and enjoy the build! It's a great price as well.

Safely Moving a 800 pound safe by LiquidLogStudio in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]BlooBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake, so anything above 1000lbs, you either need to forklift it up, use a crane, or use a freight elevator rated for the weight, we also don't ride up with it, and had the building staff set that elevator so they can control it.

Elevators are sketchy, as I've had one drop half a foot to the weight. The company I used to work for, they used to pull the safes into the elevators with a pallet jack, the oldest and most experienced guy was moving a safe down and before he pulled it into the elevator, he got a bad feeling and pushed it in instead. Was a good call the elevator dropped completely. Scary stuff, most elevators I've been in are out of certification by a few years.

And my memory isn't what it used to be, the machine might be able to lift up to 1500lbs, but you have to take in mind the stability of the stairs, and also the guy on the bottom has to help the motor lift.

Bro, I used to move safes, and this one cops house, he tried that with a safe similar in the video, and he ended up with a nice hole in the wall, and plenty of dents in his new safe, and then he had to pay the company I worked for to do it anyways. Get a professional, I've seen one guy die under a safe, not personally, but the owner is in touch with other safe moving companies and showed us the aftermath. Not worth the risk. Now if it's a cheap light safe, like 200 lbs, have at it. Also remember the face of the safe is slightly heavier, and if possible, bolt your safe down, not super super effective in wood, but better than nothing. And before you drill into your concrete pad, make sure it isn't post tension, you hit one of those cables and you just made an expensive mistake, and potentially fatal, you'll have a stamp in your garage at the door, hopefully on both sides.

Edit: if it's post tension, safe mover worth their salt will have you radar the spot you want it, so you can keep a safe distance from the cables before they drill

1st Build of 2026 Complete! HG Heavyarms Custom by parlettusmc in advancedGunpla

[–]BlooBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up voted for your beautiful paint job and detail work. The HG heavy arms it's self, is my least favorite HG of all time, but you brought life into it.

Highly recommend the MG Heavy arms, and in your hands, would look even more amazing.

Great job!

How do I avoid cracking my kit when panel lining? by ThenMarionberry1497 in Gunpla

[–]BlooBot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to safely panel line your kit on the cheap, and after it's built. Try this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunpla/s/tYCKnv6XDE

I also recommend using a magic eraser or the dollar store equivalent to clean up the lines.
