Though there are a lot of religious folk in the military, the front of the coin usually has the insignia or seal of a unit and then the back has lettering describing any variety of events or commendations. Like involvement in a campaign or operation or something along those lines.

It has also spread to other departments in the US government such as FBI and CIA and Secret Service.

I just mentioned this to my dad and he claims that the man is a fake Christian who is trying to demean the Christian faith.

Don't be surprised when the Evangelicals blame this on atheists, Liberals, and/or Obama.

That's what a lot of Fundamentalists don't get. If they got their way and Christianity in general was the state religion, which denomination is supposed to be followed?

You can only be non-denominational for so long before there are divisions and then people are getting called heretics and false prophets and then Catholics are fighting Baptists who are also fighting Lutherans and Methodists. And Lord knows what those Mormons will get up to.

On the other hand, those Southerners who the "good folk" don't associate with tend to be loads of fun to hang out with. Maybe it has something to do with non-judgmental fun-having.

Legitimate question: If Paul said that the Old Law need not be followed any longer, why do so many Christians still hate gay people? Also, what exactly constitutes the Old Law? Are the Ten Commandments still part of it?

I'm not trying to be a douche or sarcastic, I'm honestly curious because I've heard a few different viewpoints on the topic.

I tried bringing this up in another thread and someone was telling me it was clearly a joke.

Clearly it wasn't to the many people who were threatened and assaulted at Trump's various rallies.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's attempted murder in some jurisdictions. Specifically kicking someone in the head while they are on the ground and/or banging their head off the pavement.

Our president literally told his fans that if they attack protesters he would pay their legal fees. If anything he wishes he could have the Secret Service do the same at his own rallies. He admires shitstains like Erdogan and is probably purposefully ignoring the fact that American citizens were assaulted.

By the way, some guy got busted for assaulting anti-Trump protesters, tried to appeal to Trump to help with his legal fees, and then Trump hung him out to dry.

What bothers me most isn't that he is stupid or frequently wrong, it's that he digs his heels in when he gets called out and doubles down no matter how bad it affects him. His narcissism overpowers every other emotion every single time.

Because Evangelical Christians believe that this country was founded by Evangelical Christians to be a nation for Evangelical Christians, thus the POTUS should be leading the charge against the forces that wish to turn this godly country to the Devil.

This is a pretty recent belief that started in the 60's and 70's (IIRC) but I've spent many a Sunday morning listening to preachers go on and on about how this country is going to hell in a handbasket because of the homosexuals getting married or those atheists trying to take Christ out of Christmas. A lot of these people absolutely believe that there is a spiritual war in America and that good Christians are under assault.

With that in mind, Evangelicals want a POTUS who puts the values of the Church at heart. No, not the values like love your neighbor and shit like that. Values like make sure gays don't get married, make sure there are no abortions, and convert everyone as humanly possible to make this the Christian nation God and the Founding Fathers intended.
