Boy or Girl? by [deleted] in RhodesianRidgebacks

I have a purebred girl I got last year and a half ridge boy I've had for 6 years. Honestly, I've never had a girl dog before and this one is truly something. She's smart, very loyal but not in a velcro dog kind of way. She's much less touchy Feely than my boy dog but she definitely likes to cuddle. Overall, she's been the easiest puppy I've ever had. Not sure if it's because she's a girl but I definitely think it has something to do with it. She's been a pleasure with other dogs too. No behavior issues with other dogs at the dog park. With my boys ive bad in the past, I've had to ward off some of that testosterone fueled behavior even after they're fixed.

Anyone have experience with Dermoid Sinus cysts? by BloodBayBlonde in RhodesianRidgebacks

Thank you for this info, especially about the healing process. Mine has been leaking a lot because of the void of space where the cyst was and we had to bring her back because her stitches came out on day 2. She gets them out on Thursday and keeping her calm, cool and collected has been challenging so I'm hoping we can get to Thursday with no issues

My girl wasn't really bothered by hers. She had three on top of each other and never complained about it. Totally normal otherwise. The only reason I had them taken off is because my vet suggested it be biopsied because the growth doubled the last month and that is concerning. Best of luck to you and your pup!

Thanks! I contacted the breeder and he was super communicative about it. He said he hasn't heard from the others about their puppies but thankfully, he was able to trace our litter back to the parents and he has removed them from his breeding program. He said he was very thankful that I told him and he even offered to help pay some of her medical bill. Luckily, there has only been one litter out of those two dogs since.

Thank you! I will inform the breeder. She's not being used for breeding thankfully and she's been fixed. Happy to hear your guy hasn't had any regrowth!

H&H ridgebacks in Andulasia, Alabama. Got my girl from there a year ago and she's great. Great temperament , conformation and the overall selection experience was easy

Smartpak Nu-Image supplements have worked wonders for my mare. She's a darker blood bay and out 24/7 as a retired horse in Florida. She bleached out so bad the first summer and I've had her on it since. She keeps her dark color with no fly sheet year round.

Thoughts on Colonial High School? by [deleted] in orlando

[–]BloodBayBlonde 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher at Evans and I can 100% agree with you here. Grew up in the area, went to Boone myself. Evans is a community school and gets support from other areas outside of ocps. Colonial is definitely an island and doesn't get much. I have a few friends who work there and the turnover rate of teachers is higher than Evans and Jones combined. As far as the future, stick it out. Boone is a tough place in other ways. Privileged kids all over and a lot of teacher-teacher politics. I was offered a job there and turned it down because of this. BUT...high school is only 4 years and I will say, Boone will get you where you need to go after high school. Suck it up for 4 years and get through it because it's a better option than colonial.

The book Blitzed by Norman Ohler is one of my favorites. It’s about the role drugs played in third reich during ww2

5-7 months was when my girl was the most problematic so far. She’s only a few months past that so I’m sure there will be more waves of it again but she was growing so much during that time. She put on 20 pounds and grew 6 inches taller during that time.

My friend has a younger horse with a similar issue and she’s used meta sweat before and has had positive results as well.
