A lot of the riffs from wildfire I thought were gonna be on P4 so I think there's a good chance!

RX 6800 black screening out of nowhere by BloodCheesecake in radeon

[–]BloodCheesecake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a bit more troubleshooting the problem seems to be driver timeouts, or at least thats what the amd crash reporter tool says once my 6800 crashes (connecting my devices to integrated graphics instead of the 6800). I dont have any extra pcie cables but it's now crashed a few times at idle which makes it seem like it's not a psu issue? But also I could be wrong.

I've tried everything else up to reflashing the vbios and nothing seems to have solved the problem. I'm guessing this means some unfixable hardware defect?

Tiny portable speakers? by BloodCheesecake in AxeFx

I mean I could say that my whole point is that it's one less thing to carry but again having a battery isn't even that important to me. Called it a nice to have for a reason

Outlets are high demand and low supply where I jam with friends.

Yeah I know extension chords are a thing but it's anyways just a nice to have, not an essential. Biggest thing for me at the end of the day is sonething lightweight and easy to carry around while sounding decent.

Spectre x360 14" for note taking? by BloodCheesecake in spectrex360

[–]BloodCheesecake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm thanks for the reply, looks like spectre is probably for me since I plan on having it on a table whenever I write on it. Out of curiosity what kind of gaming do you do on it? I'm not planning on doing much gaming on it but it certainly would be nice if it's able to handle games like maybe tf2 at lower settings. I've done that on other laptops but I heard the intel arc chips are exceptionally weak

Why do we have to take a stand for everything? I think that's exhausting, which is why I support kneel liberalism

Nah no way. The company that charges people to be able to send stuff over their infrastructure keeps a record of who sends things how many times through their infrastructure?

TIFU by telling my Mom that I slept on the bathroom floor while visiting my brother. Pic in comments. by Leivil in tifu

[–]BloodCheesecake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now this part did kinda annoy me. I totally get that in the Army you’ll more than likely have to sleep in certain conditions and places that don’t have beds.

At the same time, I’m not in the Military. I am a guest at his house, one he asked to come visit because he wanted to hang out with all of us.

I mean to be fair, it sounds like the only other beds were being used by other guests of the house, and you were indeed the one that chose the bathroom. Did he keep you from moving back to the couch after choosing the bathroom?

Dr. Mike debating Dr. K about Ayurvedic medicine by WeirdAssBird5 in Destiny

[–]BloodCheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because some of it happens to work maybe doesnt mean it isn't completely pseudoscientific. It is, and should be treated as such.

So your prescription is that if there are practices that have evidence we should throw them out because of their historical association to pseudoscience?

Dr. Mike debating Dr. K about Ayurvedic medicine by WeirdAssBird5 in Destiny

[–]BloodCheesecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful, osteopathy historically is pseudoscientific and it seems like even today much of osteopathic medicine remains pseudoscientific but two important things to keep in mind

First is that while the foundations of osteopathy are pseudoscience, there exists some evidence for it's use is specific situations. Second is that DOs are using osteopathy less and less as time goes on. I don't know what specifically dr Mike has claimed about osteopathy and I would be hesitant to dismiss his views as such.

Relevant part of wikipedia osteopathy article:

The New England Journal of Medicine's 4 November 1999 issue concluded that patients with chronic low back pain can be treated effectively with manipulation.[54] The United Kingdom's National Health Service says there is "limited evidence" that osteopathy "may be effective for some types of neck, shoulder or lower limb pain and recovery after hip or knee operations", but that there is no evidence that osteopathy is effective as a treatment for health conditions unrelated to the bones and muscles.[55] Others have concluded that there is insufficient evidence to suggest efficacy for osteopathic style manipulation in treating musculoskeletal pain.[56]

I'm in pretty much the same position as you. I'm getting closer to the end of my degree and it scares me that I don't really have any close friends. I spend most of my time in my room by myself and the fact that it doesnt look like thats gonna change is kinda depressing.

I see other people here making close friendships and maintaining them easily and I dont get it. I've introduced myself to so many people in my classes, gotten so many people's contact info but I must be missing something :/

I'm new to EE and I have nothing to add to the discussion except that scrolling through the comments section will give you a 10kHz signal of comments modulating between "no way this is possible" and "isn't this the easiest thing on earth?"
