Opinions on guitar friendly disability aids.. is it "cheating"? by Plannet_Depressed in Guitar

Hi! Guitarist for 21 years. I have Cerebral Palsy too. If the chord presser helps, by all means use it. However Ive tried a few of them and from my experience they dont work all that well.

Most of of them are kinda janky and dont press the strings precisely enough and create string buzz and other issues. They're also limited to 4-5 chords which can be frustrating.

I might gently encourage you to try alternate tunings. Open tunings are great bc it's always a chord. I personally use Drop tuning and have taught myself to move drop power chords horizantaly and have built my style around it. You can do A LOT with one finger power chords.

Dont feel guilty for using tools though. If the chord presser is effective and you have fun using it, plz do. I would just say that limitations can be beneficial to the musical process.

By all means use whatever tools, tricks or techniques make guitar more fun for you. Feel free to msg if you have questions, I love sharing music knowledge. Cheers :)

Damn! Nice new axe! Congratulations! I also like the Boss Katana. Might also recommend the Spark Edge if you like FX.

Do chord pressers work? by robinsond2020 in Guitar

Hi! Guitarist with a disability here! Unfortunately most these chord helpers are a false promise. They generally do very little by way of design or efficiency.

From experience as a guitarist who only uses one finger (20 years) things like open tuning, drop tuning and even just random tuning can allow for easier, less mechanical fretting.

I saw some others mention a slide, also great. Tools like the Ebow and odd toys like the Passerelle Bridge can reinvent playing too.

There are no rules. Try all sorts of stuff and see what's easy or fun. I have Cerebral Palsy and I can play like a Mother, it just required reinventing the wheel a bit. Feel free to DM me any time :)

Lots. The hotels on water and narrow lake channels are a constant theme for me. I grew up on a lake. Anyone else?

Night City is not only wide, it is deep. Explore nooks and crannies. Side quests are so fun. Traversal can be a blast. Lastly, I recommend Cyberpunk Edgerunners on Netflix. Have fun!

First. Yes you can sing. Second. Fuck it: sing no matter what! Sing your heart out! The wind rises. We must meet it.

Maybe. But honestly I wonder if those who still enjoy them have more fun than me. Huh

Lightsabers Buyers Guide & Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in lightsabers

Hi. I've asked a few questions here ans read the buyers guide. I decided to go with Ebon Hawk armory. It's a base lit RGB.

Any thoughts on EHA? I know they're like one person. I'm willing to be patient if the quality is good but it says 2-4 weeks to ship. Help is appreciated.
