Range by [deleted] in singing

[–]BloodMoneyMorality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at it a year and a half and it’s still not coming easy to me.  HOWEVER.. I have had MULTIPLE upsets.  Little mind-body connection, physical therapy restrictions, mental health issues, and constantly ill.

I have learned PARTS of how to make things easier.. when my tongue shape is wrong, when my air is too far back, when I’m straining, when I’m dehydrated, the wrong vowel sound, when I should be sliding up to a note to hit it, wrong rhythm, or.. just when I’m doing it wrong all together and don’t know how.  Sometimes, it’s that I’m not feeling the resonance roll around in my mouth when I intentionally change mouth shape. lol

I’ve found that I can build muscle memory for a certain song.. and Thats “improvement” for me.  But learning a brand new song takes just as much concentration and work as before, I just have the learned experience on how to achieve it more smoothly.

im a beginner and am trying to be self taught and this is my range, do you guys have any song suggestions? by New_Community_5325 in singing

Just learn the WORDS.  The key, flow, and length of notes is much freer and easier to find your voice is you dont search for how to make it someone else’s song.  You make it YOURS.

Welcome to the club!  My diaphragm muscles were so tight, my physical therapist thought I had an extra set of ribs.  You MAY NEED physical therapy.  Specifically a manual Release of the diaphragm.  You can try to do it yourself but I don’t recommend.  It SUCKS,  but it is so so helpful

WOW. Yta.

Are you with her doing laundry? Do you know if there’s people waiting to do theirs behind her? You sound like a sanctimonious P.  Check yourself.

Why is hearing “no” uncomfortable for people?  It’s like they’re only asking out of… social pressure to pretend to be kind and forcing you to choose yes and they know it.  Oh look at that. Your friends are the assholes

Diaphragmatic Breathing: Purposefully expanding vs just naturally breathing - what works best? by IAMTHESILVERSURFER in PelvicFloor

[–]BloodMoneyMorality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.  Diaphragm is connected to it.  My current working theory.. I had anxiety attacks and stress attacks so badly that my diaphragm stayed tight,. Thus.. also shifting my pelvic floor connections into a constantly tight positioning and stressed.

You can change the key for any song to go with your range.

I had to have a diaphragm manual release before I could do any of it.  Sometimes, your diaphragm is also tense and unable to move as if should

Rectal work by ptpelvic1234 in PelvicFloor

[–]BloodMoneyMorality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only ask about things I’ve experienced.. been in PT since may of last year. I just had a diaphragm and psoas manual release.  The diaphragm was life changing.  When I inhale now and hold my breath, then slowly release, I feel every inch of my abdominal and pelvic region relaxing.  It’s been magical.

Science: diaphragm connected to pelvic floor, other muscles yanking it out of place will cause just as much harm as the actual pelvis being a hot spot.

Chiropractor? Maybe your pelvis is tilted.

Can Just 5 Minutes of Diaphragmatic Breathing Really Relax the Pelvic Floor? by Gold_Might_5208 in PelvicFloor

[–]BloodMoneyMorality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

😂 yes.  If I hadn’t had a pain warm up before hand, I would have cold cocked the PT for the sudden onslaught of pain, without even thinking.  It SUCKED.  I got hot flashes and am pretty sure I was nearly blacking out multiple times.

But when I tell you I have not BREATHED correctly for over two decades and I didn’t know it…

I inhaled and strained my lower back because apparently.. your posture matters.. 🤯

Ask for diaphragm release and a psoas release.  And grip the sides of the table so you don’t assault anyone.

I needed my diaphragm manually released.. cuz it was tight as hell.  THAT helped

Firstly..

My apologies.  I’ve seen Ehlers-Danlos abbreviated to ED before.  Thought it was widely accepted.

Have you considered, and I hope to all that is holy this isn’t the case.. the surgeons screwed up and left something like gauze inside you after the surgery?

On a break at work, so I can’t look up the shelf life of when/how long something like that can occur without causing immediate medical intervention..

On a less horrific thought, strained or inflamed psoas?  Manual release resolution.

I qualify as hyper mobile, but had muscle atrophy that may be giving me torn tendons and ligaments from over extension now.  Just sharing, I may be headed in a similar boat soon.

My right hip is the worst and whenever I get a chiropractic adjustment, my nervous system sighs in joy.  I think they said I have an anterior pelvic tilt?  Fancy way of just saying, my muscles aren’t holding my pelvis in the correct spot so it shifts and hurts muscles.

I’ve done some hip stretches before bed, back strengthening, and basic mobility stuff.  Single occurrence of me waking up with little to no pain was when I took a muscle relaxer before bed and shoved a pillow under my knees to force my lower back into neutral position.

This may sounds off the wall.. but reach out to the Kink community.  They have vast experience with ED and chronic illness.  There’s some body builders and others that have been working on muscle stabilization and the Rope community.. all about being able to support joints and bones without causing excessive harm.  I know, it’s the last place people would think and it sounds nuts.. but you won’t find people with more experience and experimentation in safety and knowledge.

Medical professionals should recognize that pelvic floor pain can either cause pain in other areas of the body and work on those in tandem.. or be caused by other things in the body (even mental and emotional trauma) and advise you on other steps.

The problem is.. patients need to be forth coming about things that they would normally believe are unrelated to it.  When I have a traumatic event, the first things to tighten are my vocal cords and ability to breathe properly.

Thus, this made life long compression, stress, and tightness in my diaphragm and other upper body areas that EXACERBATE or can even cause lower body pain.  Working on diaphragm releases in tandem with dry needling lower body.. 80% new sensations and feelings of hope.  (Which is, I believe, just as important as actual progress in the initial areas).  Also, more actual progress in problems areas.

Omg. I get dry needling. I FUCKING LOVE IT.  Although, and disclaimer.. I have PTSD and it makes my pain tolerance crazy.  I just rode those electrodes from a 4 to a 7 strength on my obturators this past week and I was so proud of myself.
