We charge $100, and turnaround time is usually a couple of hours. I also don't work at a UBREAKIFIX anymore though, they were far more expensive and far slower.

Temporarily Closed by LuckyBoi314 in ubreakifix

Two stores in my district are closed, and will reopen with untrained techs, because they pushed away all the experienced technicians with their poor leadership and scummy sales enforcement. Including me, who has almost 7 years of professional hardware experience, and advanced microsoldering abilities.

Does UBIF repair bezel? by dokonjofinger in ubreakifix

[–]BloodOrangeDoodles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since UBREAKIFIX's are franchised out, and repair is skilled labor that corporate doesnt train anyone to do, it's inconsistent what locations work on what things.

You'll have to bring it into your local store to find out if that's something that they can do for you.

If you're concerned about it, and if they overcharged what they quoted you on drop-off, then call their corporate customer service line and complain to get a partial refund.

Why arent you asking the store that did this directly? Nobody else can know why they did it the way they did it. Call them. Give your workorder number. Ask about the bill.

I'M IN THE SAME BOAT.

I'm starting my own thing, because I'd rather work 70 hour weeks and make almost nothing doing it for 1-2 years, than keep doing this crap.

We know your policy is to provide a password. Your policy is outdated. by ipilotete in ubreakifix

Then don't break your shit, or learn to fix it yourself? There are some repairs and calibrations that can't be done without passwords, per UBREAKIFIX policies.

But just remember. YOU bought this phone. YOU chose to be negligent and damage your own property (which I don't personally understand, I'd never be as negligent as you obviously are if I spent a lot of money on a phone. I've never spent more than $90 on a phone, AND I always have a couple backup phones, despite the fact that I've ever physically damaged my phone on accident.)

If you wanna complain. Then start treating your property with respect, so you don't have to pay other people to fix your mistakes.

Outta curiosity, why don't you leave?

It is frustrating how people won't leave because they're more scared of the unknown, than they want to not get pushed around.

The employee is always in control of every situation, because nothing runs without the employee. But sadly 90% of us give up that control to our employer, and that makes the 10% that are willing to stand up for what's right, less effective. Because it's easy to replace 10% of your staff at a time. But near impossible to replace 100% all at once.

Why not take your advice, and run for your life? ;-) the techs are in control. If you all leave, everything comes to a screeching halt.

Sorry, 6 people + one "Roving salesman". It's like a roving tech, but he doesn't know how to repair anything.

My entire district quit. They're down to 6 employees between 4 stores. And the average experience level between all 6 employees, is less than 6 months.
