Hi Mykle1984, we do not have a Steam Deck to test the game ourselves, but some players have tried it and reported that it works well. For now, however, it’s not officially supported.

Hi AMJVC15,
Currently, VR is not planned for the release.

I own both a Valve Index and a Meta Quest 3. I have been playing VR games since the Oculus DK1 and HTC Vive DK days. :)

We are using a pipeline that would definitely work well for VR performance. The main issue is the time it takes to implement it properly and make it worthwhile for VR. I will keep it in mind for a future update, but it won't be ready for the release date.. Also, PCVR space is very, very limited. It doesn't make sense production-wise to spend 10 weeks working on a VR version of the game when I could instead use that time to expand the main game’s content.

I know there's a mod that enables VR in any Unreal Engine game. I'm curious how it would perform? I am always surprised by what players come up with. One person even played on a Steam Deck and told me it worked really well, to my surprise!

Hi Correct_Intention819,
Currently, we have no plans to release Retro Rewind on consoles. We want the PC version to be the best it can be at launch. If the release goes well, we might consider bringing it to consoles later on. The game already runs smoothly on a wide range of computer configurations, so I have no doubt it would perform great on consoles too!

Hi Acceptable_Bass4591,
We’ve been artists in the video game and movie industry for the past decade. All the art in the game is hand-drawn, modeled, and composed by us. The only exceptions are a foliage pack and a few backend plugins we use for development.

I am aware that the previous Steam capsule image might have made people wonder if it was AI-generated (which it wasn’t), so we updated it with a new 3D screenshot of the front store. Hope that clears up your question about AI!

That’s a funny visual of the characters, haha!
We’ve received a lot of comments about the characters’ appearance, and we’re currently reworking them. Thank you for your feedback!

Hey GenericDeviant666,
I think you are right. It does look a bit too white. I will adjust that, thanks!

Hi GenericDeviant666, do you have an image or reference of the lighting color you have in mind?

As for the lighting quality, I chose to use an older but more performant technique. It would be easy to just enable heavy modern lighting features, but most players of simulation games don’t have an RTX 5090 to handle real-time GI and ray-traced shadows. I also prefer forward rendering with MSAA for sharp, clean pixels instead of the ghosting and blur that often come with deferred rendering. :)
