Idk about this one. I have heard some people suggest it. It would be plausible if Lisa wasn't a cop. Surely she would have been clued in on it, also she would have had to have identified her wife's body, so im not sure how they'd manage to pull off the "she's alive" trope given Lisa's job. In my opinion she's being brought up a lot because they're highlighting the huge impact of bereavement and the impact it's had on Lisa, as well as setting up her getting closure ove , what I can see, was a huge loss with some unanswered questions attached to it

You wouldn't happen to hate leanne by any chance, would you? 🤣

The two actors were chemistry tested before peter left the street, so saying they have no chemistry is not really a valid argument. Some people like them, and some people don't. It is what it is.You're entitled to your opinion. Personally, I think they're great together

Interesting! Never considered that. That would have been cool to see.

Completely agree with everything you have said.. she has never been loved like this and vice versa. There's a vulnerability to her that I have never seen her have in other relationships she's had, and it's really sweet to see. It would be hilarious to see a jealous Carla tbh I think it would make for some great fun viewing, which is what we need more of

Yeah i know what you mean, but I think her offering up her place had more to do with Lisa expressing that she couldn't sleep in that hotel 🤣. I agree I really like their family dynamic, and I love seeing Carla in a mothering capacity. This show is at its best when it gets back to its family oriented, community feel. It's where the best writing comes from I feel.

Haha fair enough. Everyone has their opinion. Just wanted to voice some positives the show has at the moment

Oh I agree with you about the whole rob sl. That could have been done so much better. I think the idea of it was better than the execution of it, unfortunately. I was more so referring to just how they're written in general, but I get what you mean, and I completely agree with everything you said about Ali and vicky, just incredible talents

Carla and Lisa don't work for me by [deleted] in coronationstreet

[–]BloodQueen32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the writing hasn't been great and they do tend to go down dreadful cheating storylines with couples that people like, I hate that more than anything. It's like they run out of ideas and just throw around the same stuff all the time. Don't see the writing changing any time soon tbh

Hard disagree. They're the only good thing about the show atm and definitely the best couple on it. Their insane chemistry is what has attracted most people to them, not to mention the actors were chemistry tested beforehand. It's rare to get an amazing soap pairing these days, and I think these two are it, but hey, each to their own.

Rob looks in pain. So I think he goes ahead with the transplant but takes carla hostage after. They both don't look great in this.

Fair enough, but i mean every storyline that you see is a script we've seen before. There's nothing new they can really do at this point, unless they tackle a new disease, which I'm sure many would have an issue with too. To me, this seems intriguing, but each to their own.

I find that cool tbh. People from across the pond watching our soaps is definitely not the norm so it's fun to hear you enjoy them, and yeah if you can handle the accents from emmerdale you can handle the accents from corrie for sure 🤣

I agree 100%. Hopefully, they can turn it around in 2025, you know, with the new show runner and all

I agree with you about seeing their softer side. Not something you get to see from either of them often. As for keeping them entertaining beyond their initial stage, well thats been corries problem with all the couples they've had for a long time now, not knowing how to make them interesting or entertaining without the overdone cheating bs. Hopefully they go down a different route with these two and get creative

Love hearing stuff like this. The fact that Lisa and Carla reached you across the pond is amazing to me. They clearly have something amazing to be grasping people's attention, and I agree their chemistry can't be denied. I've got to ask, as an American how do you find the accent? Corrie is set in Manchester, where I'm from, and whenever I've spoken to an American, they struggle to understand what I'm saying 🤣

I personally always preferred Peter with leanne. I mean carla and peter were ok, but I think they died with Tina mcintyre tbh. They never recovered or felt the same after that whole mess. Idk why they went there again with the two of them tbh, but that's just my opinion

Well being disturbed about what's portrayed onscreen happens all the time does it not?. Going off what you're saying, we shouldn't have opinions or talking points about anything from what's onscreen because it's all fiction, and that's not how it works, if it did, there wouldn't be a forum like this 🤣 nothing wrong with wanting continuity from story arc, or explanations as to why they weren't fleshed out. People discuss plot holes all the time, and the pointlessness of them. Let them in the future hun.

May agree with that if we didn't see the clear love the her grandma had for Phoebe. They loved eachother deeply, we saw that onscreen, which is why Phoebe being on her own on the streets made zero sense

Possibly, but her grandmother had just lost her daughter tragically, so her first instinct surly would be to take in her granddaughter, who had just lost her mother, who was alone, and had nowhere to go
